After having completed all of my primary flight training here and working as an instructor for JB Aeronautics for 2 years, I can only speak with the highest regard for this company. I'm now headed to work at the airlines, but I will sincerely miss the positive, professional environment that I had the privilege of studying, learning, and teaching in during my time both as a student and a flight instructor.

The owner, Jim Brannan, is an FAA Master Pilot and DPE, with over 50 years of experience in flight instruction, and he holds his instructors to the absolute highest standard of professionalism and instructional quality. He also has an unbeatable deal, with some of the lowest prices for flight training you'll see in California. You really can't get any better training for the money you pay - and honestly, I don't think you can get better training even if the prices were higher, simply due to the excellent qualtity of instruction.

It was my absolute pleasure to train and work at JB Aeronautics, and I cannot recommend this school enough to anyone looking to start, continue, or finish their journey to becoming a pilot!

My experience at JB Aero was excellent from day 1. I have nothing but positive feedback for this school and all of the hardworking instructors who made my experience here great. I contacted Jim, the owner, in January 2022 to let him know I was interested in doing some accelerated flight training in which I would take 6 weeks off work, travel to Fresno, and dedicate myself to flight training. Jim let me know it was atypical but that they would be able to work with me and had plenty of instructors and planes to ensure I would not be frustrated. I arrived in early March 2022 and began my flight training. The school had tons of awesome instructors (Marty, Drew, David, Lorenzo, Emilio, Brian, etc) and I flew with most of them. New instructors were always happy to hop in with me if my primary instructor was unavailable for any reason. The school has plenty of airplanes such that scheduling, even multiple flights per day, was never an issue. I usually scheduled my flights one day in advance or even the day of and I never had to worry about being able to get the training I wanted.

Jim was attentive throughout my training to make sure I stayed on track and received the instruction I needed. Jim, the owner, has 50+ years of flight instruction experience and the curriculum he has developed is phenomenal. Jim flew with me my first few flights and I also enjoyed reading the curriculum he developed and watching the videos he created as a means of enhancing my understanding of several key topics. This school is based in class C airspace and requires new students to become familiar and comfortable with communicating with ATC early in their flying careers which, while stressful at first, is something I'm now grateful I feel comfortable with.

I completed 80+ hours of studying before I arrived and, by being just a bit familiar, I was able to successfully complete my Private Pilot Certificate in just under 50 hours of flight time and less than 6 total weeks by flying nearly every day. The rates are very reasonable and the quality of instruction is high. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for flight instruction and I look forward to returning to the school for instrument and commercial training.

My brother and dad are both 20+ year commercial pilots and both were impressed with the quality instruction I received at this school.

I plan to return to JB Aero to work toward my instrument and commercial ratings.

50+ years of training experience and the owner has an FAA Master Pilot's Award. That statement alone should sell itself, however the supportive climate and caliber of the instructors is what really sets JB Aeronautics apart. Their safety record is outstanding and they are anything but a pilot mill. I am extremely grateful I did not decide on one of the larger schools with all glass panel fleets. Their rates are very reasonable and the Tomahawk is one of, if not the finest training aircraft ever manufactured. I completed my PPL for under 10,000 and felt very prepared for the check-ride thanks to the training and mentoring at JBA.

The most honest flight school I have ever seen.
I initially joined another local flight school where It was all about money and greed. Owner will use students rental and CFI time to run his own chores. After leaving them I heard lot of horror stories from other people. Finally joined JB Aero, couldn’t be happier and satisfied. Professional and proper training. Safety is JB’s number one priority.
