My child has been attending Kumon of Mira Mesa for several months, and the improvement in both math and reading has been remarkable. The Kumon method is designed to build a solid foundation by encouraging independent learning, which has not only improved my child’s academic skills but also fostered self-confidence and discipline.

What really stands out about this center is the exceptional leadership of Dr. Philip. Despite having hundreds of students enrolled, she manages to pay personal attention to each child’s progress. Dr. Philip’s personal touch truly sets Kumon of Mira Mesa apart from other learning centers. She regularly checks in with parents and provides insights into each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that the program is tailored to fit their individual needs. It’s comforting to know that our child isn’t just another student here but a valued learner with a personalized learning plan.

The instructors and staff are friendly, approachable, and always willing to make adjustments when necessary. They make learning fun yet challenging, helping the kids push their boundaries while ensuring they aren’t overwhelmed. Kumon Mira Mesa really exceeded our expectations. From the first phone call with Dr. Philip, who operates this Kumon Center, I felt I was listened to as a parent and my concerns were acknowledged. I appreciate Dr. Philip and her staff's approach to my child's learning, which is with empathy and understanding without pushing her out of her limit. I appreciate Dr. Philip's philosophy that learning should be fun and children don't need to be drilled for hours to understand and gain from it. A bit of background on my kiddo - she attends a language immersion school and I felt she needed the extra help and attention for reading. Kumon has been instrumental in my daughter rising to her potential in Math. We visited a few other math centers and spoke with other private math tutors yet when I met with Dr. Philips at Mira Mesa Kumon, I knew this location and system were the right choice. Dr. Philip's full engagement, commitment and mutual desire to help my daughter rise in Math was clear and evident from our first meeting. The attention, care and concern was also illicited by the rest of the staff. The staff want the children to succeed not to just keep the business thriving but because they want each child to thrive in Math so they can thrive in life. Considering Kumon .....I recommend the Mira Mesa location!!!!

We’ve had a great experience with the Kumon center in Mira Mesa. The instructors are patient, and they provide a supportive environment that encourages kids to reach their full potential. My son’s math and english skills have improved dramatically, and he is now performing above grade level. The program requires commitment and consistency, but the results are worth it. The center is also well-organized and maintains a clean and welcoming environment. Highly recommended!

My daughter has been enrolled at the Kumon of Mira Mesa for reading sessions for a while now. She was very resistant at first as she's been struggling as a reader. She learned to enjoy the routine of the writing and reading worksheets provided by Kumon and all the support she receives from her wonderful tutors while she is at the center for 30 minutes twice per week. The people who have made her language arts journey more exciting and less intimidating have been there for her from the beggining and she has been more confident as a reader and as a communicator since she joined Kumon of Mira Mesa. We were very proud of our daughter when she received 92% on her exam and moved to a new level along with receiving a diploma and a new pouch with worksheets. The journey can be bumpy sometimes but Kumon of Mira Mesa team makes it fun and encourages the kids to do their best and strive for more as they put their fears aside and just keep working at it. Step by step the kids become more confident in their abilities and realize that they actually can do this while they make friends. I highly recommend this center and this particular location as they have made a positive impact in our lives and in our daughter's learning process as well as in her motivation.

We have 2 of our children here, the third is still little. Our eldest is in 4th grade. She had lost confidence at school and would just zone out during math because she couldn't comprehend what the teacher was trying to teach. In fact, when she tested a Kumon, she was at a 2nd grade level, and our younger daughter was a year behind. In 3 short months, the transformation has been amazing. She's still doing addition and subtraction at Kumon to catch up, but her confidence has skyrocketed.

She's now understanding her teacher and is able to do fractions at a 4th grade level, but Dr. Phillip isn't rushing anything. She's still going to go through all the 3rd grade levels, but the work at Kumon has helped so much at her current level!

The Kumon Center in Miramesa is awesome! The instructors are super patient and helpful. They're also great at motivating kids with positive reinforcement and inspiring words. My children made a lot of progress in 2 years, both in math and English. Shoutout to Dr. Phillips for always pushing them!

This is my first experience with Kumon, and it was so good that I hope all of them are like this! The teachers have created a nurturing but disciplined environment where students are encouraged to keep reaching higher. The English and Math programs are both great, don't hesitate at all if this is the Kumon you decide to join!
