This was our stop off the aerial tram and it is a great resting area too. The bar area was closed on a Wednesday, which was unfortunate. I assume they are closed on weekdays? Magnificent views, not so much seating but it was not busy at all during our Wednesday visit. Apparently on weekends it is super super busy.

Initial plan was to do Granite Chief Trail till PCT and turn back, but I got greedy and climbed up further to Emigrant Face, and then ran down to High Camp. Took the tram down back to the trailhead - it's free going down. The camp is nice and spacious, with clean restrooms, and water spouts - definitely needed those after 3 hours of hiking. The tram ride was about 15 minutes, and pretty cool. Only a 5-minute walk from there back to Granite Chief Trailhead.

The trails off of High Camp can be mixed and matched to provide a customized hike. Trails include single track and service roads with a variety of terrain. I hiked to the top of Palisades peak, 4.5 miles out and back. Great views of Tahoe and surrounding area.

The views were fantastic. The lift was $40, but you could use it as many times as you want during the day. At the top there’s a museum for the 60’s Olympics. It was cool, but underwhelming. Lots of trails, corn hole, and a restaurant can keep you busy for a couple of hours.

It was really beautiful. These slopes were truly beginner slopes and everyone who is just learning or has only done it a few times should be directed up here. All staff was friendly and helpful. The views were amazing and you could just visit their vista deck or enjoy drinks/lunch

Spectacular views from the top. They have a restaurant, pool, shop at the top (great during Summer). Cable car ride is fun. Day pass ticket prices start from $39 per person, which includes unlimited cable car rides in a single day. During summer due to high temperature and high altitude you may feel dehydrated up at the top so carrying a water bottle would be comfortable. They do have water filling stations at the top.

So cool! Was here fo Wanderlust and came up for an afternoon. A pool on a mountain top with views and a restaurant? Sounds made up but it is legit. Absolutely worth the trip!
