The food is great American style food. I liked the ahi tuna tacos a lot. Caesar salad with chicken skewers were good too. But the prices are high 😟, like really… $25 for 5 patties prawns… View is amazing. You need a reservation- walked in and lucky to get a table at 5 pm.

Mary was simply amazing! As we told her, she is the gold standard of how a server should be. We were celebrating my besties birthday and she made it very special. The atmosphere of the restaurant was unique, as prices were higher but the menu was raunchy. The Woodys were deceivingly tasty. Food wise - the dungeoness crab cakes and the croissant bread pudding were the highlight. The special was an ahi plate with Wasabi mashed potatoes which was a good size and flavored well. Overall, a great and fun experience which we would come back for, even though it was expensive, because the staff and general vibe made it feel worthwhile.

What a great place here on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Beautiful sunset view with heaters as the weather gets cooler. Excellent selection of cocktails and appetizers to start off the evening. Fresh fish dishes are recommended and all of meals were good along with great service.

I love the beautiful view out to Lake Tahoe and the open doors/windows. I enjoy the natural light coming in and the patio sitting. There’s a dock where boats come in and walkway down to the shore to enjoy splash in water. I had 30 year old woody and it’s so refreshing with just the right kick of alcohol. The coconut shrimps was crispy on the outside with sweet and tangy mango sauce. Delicious food with amazing vibe totally got my attention and will for sure come back again to this restaurant. Staffing was amazing too!

Had a nice experience at Gar Woods tonight. The restaurant overlooks Lake Tahoe, so the views out on the deck are outstanding. The food was solid, and the service was excellent. We would definitely return. This is a great place for a meal along with outstanding views of the lake.

Great Service. Food was amazing , we all ordered different entrees and ALL of it was delicious . We had a nice outdoor table with stunning view of the lake and pier. Everything was worth it.

We stop by here once a year. Food and service is great. The lobster and shrimp bisque is our favorite. The sea scallops are incredible. Mine never come out that good when I cook at home. The French dip is also a favorite. Be sure to stop by the wooden boat showroom next door.

Never disappointed with a trip to Gar Woods. Food is flavorful and plated beautifully. No matter the season, the atmosphere is magical. Wonderful birthday dinner with excellent service the entire evening.
