Beautiful dam and gate. Well preserved there some signage and pictures of its construction. There seems to be more information inside the building but you can only see it from the windows.

I grew up in Northern California, and Lake Tahoe has been a part of my entire life. When I was younger, a family cabin was close to the lake. Every summer, I got to enjoy, riding my bike around the roads and neighborhoods of South Shore, when it was safe for kids to do this... kayaking, boating, fireworks, and laying on the beach. I never get tired of looking at the sparkling deep blue and emerald waters. This was another incredible day of meandering around the breathtaking area of Lake Tahoe.

After visiting the Visitor's Center across the way, we came to check out the dam. My son found it very cool to look at and he loved that there was a ground image of Tahoe. I wish more people were courteous about masking, but that says more about the people than the dam. Hopefully we can come back and see these supposed trout one day.

The Lake Tahoe Dam is a unique sight to see in North Lake Tahoe with a lot of history behind it. Definitely worth seeing if in Tahoe City since it is the only outlet of water for Lake Tahoe. The age of the dam is also impressive, and the small neighboring park is also a great place to relax.
