Educational Opportunities and Visitor Experience

Visitors to the center are in for a treat. With reviews on Google My Business pointing to a 4.6 out of 5 average opinion, it's clear that the center delivers exceptional educational experiences. For instance, the tour, tailored for middle school and above, offers hands-on experiments that spark interest, although some younger children might find the activities less engaging. The center's commitment to safety is evident with the requirement of masks since August 2, 2021, and the provision of a 3D video presentation that vividly illustrates water shed processes.

One of the standout features for young explorers is the sandbox experiment, which demonstrates how water sheds work. For taller kids, the observation of a child bent over microscopes at a 90-degree angle might inspire them to try using the microscopes themselves, although it might be helpful to have stools available for those who wish to participate more fully.

Very interesting. The tour is geared to middle school and higher, the hands on experiments (though cool) are geared for much younger. Masks will be required as of Aug. 2 2021. The 3d video was very well done. As is the sand box experiment that shows how water sheds work. Child in photo bent at 90 degree is 15 trying to use the microscopes. Perhaps stools for tall kids who want to participate.

A great place to take kids, teens & other family members to learn about the ecology of Lake Tahoe and the efforts being made to keep it a beautiful gem. I wouldn't have gone here if we didn't have a house full of teens and 3 rainy days in a row during a summer visit, but I'm sure glad we did. Totally worth it.
