We saw the Mathew Turner when she was just ribs in the building. Then we came back and the keel planks were stacked around the room, slices of trees with the bark still on. Wood steamers and bending jigs everywhere. Then we were able to tour the ship just before she was launched. Now we have been sailing on her. We enjoy sailing on tall ships, so it was great to be on the bay again and this time it was the Mathew Turner. Nice friendly crew, we can help hoist the sails, or just enjoy. Love how they have the educational programs for kids! A great experience for young and old, even with walkers!

Wow! This was way beyond our expectations. This sailboat is a beauty and is maintained in a pristine condition. And the crew was phenomenal, gentle, engaged, and hard working. Yes, it’s a lot of hard work to maneuver the sail and negotiate cross winds. We were lucky as the weather was on the mild side, with sun out, water cobalt blue and serene. As the sun was setting in, the boats, birds, and moon for an amazing experience. Highly highly recommended.

Amazing all around experience with Captain Adrian and his marvelous crew. For boat lovers this is a must see and do if you can. We had a charter last night out of Richmond before sunset and it was simply magical. The back story behind the boat is fascinating and her aim is noble. Thanks for taking us out. An experience I’ll never forget. Cheers!

This is An amazing ship with a wonderful crew. This was our first time in a sail boat and the experience of being in the water without the mechanical noise was great. The crew was professional and juggled customer service with managing the ship very well. Sylvia helped get us through the website and on board making the entire thing possible.

My wife and I were enchanted by Saturday's Lighted Boat Parade on Call of the Sea's Matthew Turner. The weather was perfect, the boat was magnificent, the light show was beautiful, and the people were the best part. We especially loved the crew work - well done!

We had a wonderful 3-hour cruise around the bay on the Matthew Turner on the 4th of July. The crew were very nice to our 4-year-old grandson and went out of their way to make him welcome. The day was perfect for sailing, and we were able to take full advantage to see most of the bay. Definitely recommend!
