Learning Lab has been a game changer for our daughter. She has dyslexia and had been in other remediation and tutoring programs for 3 years before we found Learning Lab. After being referred to Learning Lab for an evaluation for my daughter, my expectations were high, but unfortunately, the reality fell short in several key areas, leading me to share my frustrating experience.

Lack of Communication: My initial step, after feeling discontented, was to reach out to the owner via email, seeking some form of resolution or at least acknowledgment. The complete lack of response was not only disappointing but also added to my frustration, highlighting a significant gap in customer service and care.

Evaluation Cost vs. Value: The $780 price tag for the evaluation was startling, especially when the industry standard ranges between $250-$350. The session lasted merely 60 minutes, far from what one would expect at such a high cost. This lack of transparency and justification for the exorbitant fee felt like a bait-and-switch tactic, leaving me feeling almost deceived.

Rushed and Inadequate Evaluation: The evaluation, conducted by Aly, was not only delayed by 15 minutes but also hurried through, compromising the quality and depth needed to understand my daughter's unique needs accurately. This rushed approach was mirrored in the follow-up call, which was supposed to offer insight and next steps but instead felt perfunctory and unsatisfactory.

Misleading Program Recommendations: The assertion that their specific program is the sole solution for children's learning needs is not only misleading but also dismissive of other effective methodologies that might be more suited to individual cases. This one-size-fits-all stance is not only unhelpful but also restricts parents from exploring other potentially beneficial options.

Utility of the Evaluation: The evaluation provided turned out to be virtually useless for educational planning or as evidence for other programs, as it failed to accurately represent my daughter's condition and needs.

Final Thoughts: I urge parents to think twice before investing in a costly evaluation at Learning Lab. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and the general dismissiveness once payment is made is alarming. It's crucial for a service aimed at helping children to also show respect and consideration for the parents and guardians seeking to support those children's development.

Learning Lab, it's imperative to address these concerns seriously, not only to improve your service quality but also to rebuild trust with your clients. Your silence in the face of legitimate complaints is not acceptable and certainly not the way to foster a positive reputation or client relationships.

The entire team at learning lab is phenomenal. I am so happy to have found Aly and learning lab. My kids progress has been slow but steady- there is no instant solution or “cure” for dyslexia and learning differences. But with the love and support of learning lab teachers they are learning. And they leave learning lab smiling and confident which is amazing.
