If you’re thinking about enrolling your child in spring’s charter schools, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Their schools, in particular The Riverside Student Center, weaponized cps. I’ve had a cps worker contact me because the school reported that my daughter had fallen asleep in class. You can’t make this stuff up. Rather than contacting me the parent, in their minds a child falling asleep in class was grounds to call cps. The report was so ridiculous that I was advised to take legal action, as I will.
Furthermore, the teachers at the riverside student center is poor. They use the home study days as a cop out to not teach, and to put the majority of the work on the parents. Please be advised.

Left a pretty dishonest review of this school like 5 years ago, and I’ve since graduated high school in a different campus and I feel like I need to readjust my review of this place lol

I went here in the 7th grade and had to leave for another school the next year because it was closer and because I was doing terribly in it. I have struggled with Autism and ADHD for the entirety of my academic career, and that school had no support for kids who struggle with the stubbornness and disorganization that comes with that. I failed every class I had in that year, and I was suspended 4 times. Once I moved to another school, I got the academic support I needed and made honor roll almost every year of high school.

While the kids and environment might be better than those in a public school, if you have a child with a learning or hyperactivity disability of any kind, this school is not for them. They most likely do not have the support systems in place necessary to help your child succeed.

River Springs is a great alternative to the traditional school. This is our son's third year with them and he enjoys every year of it! He particularly likes the combination of regular school and online interaction, where he is taught on how to handle himself in electronic media. All the teachers and staff are very helpful and friendly. The best thing my son likes is that it's a small community where he can reach out to almost everyone. The school has a new program called Explorers, which gave him the opportunity to thrive among older kids. It brings out the best in students who are independent and can work in grade levels higher than their age dictates. It's rewarding for parents like us to see that a school and its students can actually make a child excited!

I have had my kids in River Springs in Riverside for three years and the kids and I love it. I have no idea why there are so many bad reviews. It was everything I was looking for in a school. My ES was fantastic and my kids love the classes. I am able to have a lot of say in their curriculum and they offer so many great classes. My kids get the best of both worlds, school at home and school in a classroom environment.

Absolutely LOVE this school program. My kids have been enrolled for the past 2 years now and it has been very helpful. They give you the space and freedom to incorporate your own ideas into the curriculum, and despite the tremendous amount of available help, you only meet with someone once a month. There's still field trips, and incentives that encourage students to do good in school and they provide you with so much when it comes to supplies and learning tools. I would recommend this school to anyone that's looking for an alternative to public schooling.

It was good while it lasted but unfortunately it did not last long enough. This school used to be amazing but something changed. First of all, lets discuss the under funding. My god is this place underfunded. The teachers barely have enough money to pay for supplies for the class half the time which becomes a huge problem. The lack of basic high school commodities like a gym, cafeteria, computer lab, etc. simply does not exist at this school. The school is constantly asking for more money from the parents but simply does not get enough to properly produce any of these as stated above. Because of a lack of money, the school cannot seem to become well organized like it once was, once upon a time. Another problem with this school is the campus. Someone had the great idea of taking a two story office building with two separate wings and converting it into a school for K-12. Who thought that would be a good idea? It is over crowded in the hall ways and it causes many problems for students attempting to pass between classes. Speaking of classes, why not discuss some of the teachers at this school? The teachers can be extremely kind and helpful. I personally have meet 3 teachers at this school that I simply adore because of how they treat their students. But there is a problem which ties back to the funding problem, they are not paid enough which leads to the teachers taking their anger out on the students. My personal favorite is a teacher (I will not include names) who constantly yells at her students that they are "lazy, irresponsible, and going to fail in life." Sounds like a really effective pep talk am I right? They recently fired the previous Chemistry, Physics, and Biology teacher (Yes it is all one person) who really aimed to help the students succeed and replaced him with a new teacher. He is not a bad person, but his teaching style is atrocious and many of his students are failing in various classes. And before I forget to mention, as of now, half the senior class is failing and will not be graduating this year. With a fail count that high, does it not sound like a possible teacher fault that needs to be corrected? Not to this school. Regardless of what the error is, it is always the students fault, no matter what the circumstances are. I also would like to add how much of a joke some of the student hosted clubs are. Rotary for example is a great opportunity for the students to work with people to give back to the community. The people in rotary have good intentions and are generally respectable people. However, most of their time is spent planning for stuff that they are never going to accomplish due to lack of funding. The sports team desperately tries to face off against other neighboring high schools but they just cannot compete because of a lack of formal training due to the under funding.
In all, the school is a shell of its former self. Most of the negative reviews that are for this school are from former students and parents of students while the positive reviews are written by current employs of the school no doubt. I am actually quite worried that I may be chastised or have my comment removed by the school for writing a critical review about them.

It is a business and it is treated as such, children equal dollar signs to those in leadership roles at that place, just try to engage with them. If your child has an IEP they offer no services!!! The middle and high school in Hemet currently have gym time in an asphalt alley. Pick up is a disaster and the school constantly throws half days and unscheduled days off throughout the year. There are good teachers there, but they can't make up for such a dumpster fire of a business, its not a school. Parents are asked to fund the classroom supplies (all of them and all year), supply the items for fundraisers and are then charged to attend the event and for the items they donated.

My name is Breanna and I attend the River Springs in the Hemet Girard Site. Everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them. However, let me give you an insight about my experience with River Springs. I have been attending River Springs for about five years now, and I absolutely love the school. In my opinion, I would rather attend a school that's a lot smaller because well... basically you're not " just another number" since there isn't thousands of students here. Attending a school with a small environment gives you the opportunity to get the help you need, gives teachers the opportunity to know your learning style, and gives everyone the chance to get to know each other personally. River Springs has made a big impact in my life because back then I was VERY unsociable. The environment here has made me feel really comfortable and my social skills has improved dramatically. In many public schools, there are A LOT of bad influences and trouble. Here at River Springs, the teachers and staff always makes sure that our school environment is safe. Regarding internship, I love the internship program. I have had the opportunity to do my internship at a medical office, which gave me an insight in the career pathway I want to pursue. I've also had the opportunity to take CTE medical courses here at this school. I definitely recommend this school to others. I'm graduating this year, and I have to say it'll be hard to leave. I also would love to thank all the teachers and staff for all their hard work, and making my school years there special. 🙂
