About two years ago when it became clear that my then 13 year old would go back to school after Covid it was of most importance to me that she would get all the help she needed to succeed in her last year of Middle School and more importantly in the transition to High School. Needles to say two years later my daughter is a straight A student in High School and has her sight set on "running start" at Clark College. I have used Gold Star’s services for over 10 years off and on for my 2 daughters. The services that are offered are for all ages and subjects. My college student needed English and Math help and my middle schooler gets Reading help. Teaching staff are very friendly and professional. The owner Melissa Fox is very easy to communicate with and helps to develop a schedule that best fits into my busy life. I am so thankful For a tutoring company like this in our area.

The Group Sessions offered during Distance Learning was amazing for after-school help 2 days a week with peers. The extra help on assignments helped our daughter achieve her goal of honor roll for first term! We are moving to 1:1 tutoring now that we are on a hybrid schedule, but expect it be even more beneficial and effective for her. Gold Star deserves all 5 stars: from assessments to communication weekly on what they worked on, we can see her progress. She has built a relationship with the staff there and we appreciate all the help.

My daughter AND son both were way way behind in reading. I came across Gold Star tutoring online and called to get information. Melissa was full of info. We met her and she did some testing and said they both had traits of dyslexia. I then signed them up for summer tutoring. They have different natures but Melissa was GREAT with each of them. The program she uses helped them both so much! They both jumped so much in reading skills with the Orton-Gillingham method! I couldn’t be more thankful. They both really enjoyed the special room with the swing when it was open to use during their session. The only thing that could’ve made it better is if it was in Battle Ground but she is pretty close off the freeway to buzz in and out! We did enjoy the river during the summer while waiting for their turns. It was one after another:)Truly if you have a child struggling to read this is the answer to your prayers!!

If you are looking for the best tutor, you have found the place! My son has been going here for about a year now we have seen him improve immensely. Melissa is patient and works at his pace so he fully understands the information that is provided. Melissa also helps us work with his school to help get the most out of his time at school as well. I really appreciate all Melissa has done for our family and our son. If I could give this place more then 5 stars I would! You will be very satisfied with Melissa and her team when it comes to your child'd education.
