Mr Li is pretty good. I just started going last year and I actually have learned a LOT. I became pretty ahead of my school class in math because of Mr Li. The only things I don’t really like is the amount of homework. It could be a bit less. And Mr. Li is a bit intimidating and has a high ego. And the summer program is rough. Wayyyy too much work to be completed in a day.

Mr Li is strict, unprofessional and does not care about his students' wellbeing. The work load is massive for a summer class and you have to do corrections to make sure at least 80/90% of the work is correct but students just copy answers so it's pointless lol.

Someone from this number with the name in the caller ID called me pretending to be from the Dept Of Education about loan forgiveness. Of course it was a scam and when I was about to tell him that I was on to him, he hung up on me.

DO NOT interview at this place. Mr. Li is rude, condescending, and insults your intelligence because he is prideful.

The structure of the interview was not at all what was advertised, and instead of giving a 35min SHSAT, he admitted to grabbing 10 of the hardest problems he could find which had nothing to do with the content, to be done in only 10 minutes. According to him, “I grab these problems and not even people with PHD’s can solve them like I can.” Sir, these are middle school students studying for an exam to enter a specialized high school. His whole demeanor was disingenuous.

He also was not honest about what he was searching for in the position, leading to a wasted afternoon. There was no discussion with him about the position, just an immediate exam, and he cut me off numerous times as I was explaining my background, saying “I know all about math, I have been doing this for 20 years.”

The other reviews about Mr. Li here are true. Do not waste your time interviewing here even if the pay looks good. He deceptively did not put the name of the learning center or hours because he knows no one would want to work there once they saw the reviews.

My boys (12y old) went to Mr. Li's Learning Center for a year, and their younger sister (10y old) started going this year.
I wanted my sons to prepare for the Hunter College High School admissions test, both in Math and ELA. They actually enjoyed going there every Sunday and excitedly told me what they had learned each time.
In Math, Mr. Li taught them techniques to think fast and answer questions more quickly and easily; homework helped them practice those techniques. He challenged them to be comfortable with material well beyond their grade. In ELA, they gained overall more practice for that kind of exam.
The class requires a certain level of time commitment, as you are expected to complete homework in addition to regular school homework or extra-curricular activities. But my sons definitely progressed and flourished from it, more so than from regular class, and ultimately passed their exams thanks to the preparation.
I had tried private tutors before: My kids didn't like them and the cost per lesson was higher. The tutors at Mr. Li were excellent and from what my kids tell me, Mr. Li goes through a rigorous hiring process and includes students' inputs. I would recommend it for motivated students that do well and want to prepare for specialized high school tests.

My daughter just started there too and was really excited after class.

Are you looking for a place to do more homework and learn absolutely nothing? Well, this is the right place for you! Here, it comes with all kinds of necessities to make you feel like you wasted money. First of all is the homework! Are you looking for homework that you will just google the answers to? This is the right place! With over 100 questions for math, 50 questions for reading, and more reading, this is an absolute place to go if you are willing to waste money! Need more? Sure! They will make you finish all the homework and if you don't? You will just end up doing "corrections" until you get 90% correct! Well if you would like to waste money, this is the absolute go-to place to go. Also, as a added bonus, you get to endure the horrors of doing the wrong thing. Do one thing wrong and Mr. Li will say "If you do something wrong, you will get laughed at" . Now, I'm not going to go there anymore.

Mr. Lee has a bad attitude. I called Mr.Lee to ask some questions. I haven’t even finished talking and he hung up the phone. He has no patience to listen. He said rudely, “Why do you have so many questions?”
