Nothing but kindness, love and GENUINE care for our son. Not only were they a blessing to our son’s educational development, but a blessing to my wife and I as well.
My son went from curiosity about the tutoring beyond school, but soon was excited to be a part of the program. He was able to grasp on to his school work better within a month or two.
Sylvan is very hands on and dedicated to helping young kids become more comfortable and confident with themselves. They even helped my son with his schoolwork outside of their own curriculum.
Sylvan made us feel like family. We have the UPMOST GRATITUDE, LOVE AND RESPECT for Sylvan Learning and all the staff that was apart of my son’s journey. The staff is AMAZING at what they do. They were very kind to us from day 1.

My experience with Sylvan Learning McKinney has been very pleasant. My 4th grader was struggling with reading and writing, so I decided to give Sylvan a shot. And it was one of the best decisions I’ve made! The lessons were based on strengthening his skillset and working to overcome his weaknesses in certain areas. The staff is super supportive and so nice. Especially Maddie, the manager, is super sweet!

My kids have loved coming here and very quickly caught up to grade level in such a short time. Everyone was super nice and made it fun and enjoyable for my kids. They were always excited for the days they got to go to sylvan.

Sylvan learning of McKinney staff is friendly and empathetic. They assisted my grandchildren and a friends child to improve their learning capability. Nightmare on Virginia Pkwy!! If you’re looking at the reviews, take HEED to this one!! Im expressing my extreme disapproval for the sake of others. Do not get into a contract with sylvan of McKinney. Or, take money from Your Tuition Solution. I gave 2 weeks notice to Sylvan 12/17/24, and was due a $6000 refund. For the past 3 months I’ve been blatantly lied to regarding that refund!! I was told early January, 2025 by Sylvan McKinney that they had done all they needed to do to process my refund. So imagine my surprise when January 15th, Feb. 1st, & Feb. 15th came and still no refund. The excuses were endless.. But come to find out Sylvan (the girls in the office and the owner) hadn’t done their part until 2/22/25!!! The way they operate is appalling, unfair, and despicable! The girls in the office will lie, string you along, and point to the owner. The owner will mislead you and lie saying the refund had been submitted knowing full well it has not! The bank will tell you once the refund is submitted it’s takes 24 hours to see. So why did it take 3 months!!! It’s a grueling thing trying to get money you’re owed from a person, and it’s no difference here! I’ve been fighting for 3 months feeling like I had gotten scammed for $6000. Don’t let this be you. There are a lot of GREAT reviews but obviously everyone’s not as fortunate. You’d think you’d have some type of help from Your Tuition Solution (their financing comp), nope! They cannot do anything. You’re basically stuck making payments/owing the bank money for services you didn’t receive until Sylvan decides to send the refund. There’s no protection for the consumer.! My advice find a real tutor because you can put your child in front of a iPad with an educational lesson on it at home for free! And when you find a real tutor pay by the week! Never hand someone thousands of dollars for something they might do.
