After the years of Covid school uncertainty, we were (despite having a long history of home schooling) concerned about Juniper's progress, for her upcoming grade level.

Then we found Sylvan Learning Center of Allen. They tested her every proficiency, as well as her ability to do well on standardized testing for FREE (a special, this month ONLY!) It's generally $49.

We met with them and their report hit EVERY area where she could improve. All those we suspected...and some we didn't!

That was Friday. They had multiple options, from hourly help to an all-out plan to nail every issue and send her into school prepared to LOVE it...because she'll be confident in both her schoolwork and taking the constant onslaught of standardized tests Texas throws at every student.

She started her classes that Monday. HOW EASY WAS THAT?

I was surprised that they had options for every budget. We chose the all-out ready-to-rock option and, only a week later (can it be only a week?) our nervous-reading-aloud learner is blossoming. She insists we allow her to read her a chapter of the MYSTERY SHE'S READING before bedtime each night.

She loves her instructors and is making the kind of progress that comes from the best teachers, focusing on only the areas where she needs work. It's amazing how repairing only-the-cracks-in-the-wall leads to EXPONENTIAL gains in ALL of her subjects.
Most importantly, she LOVES Sylvan. She's packing up hours before we leave, ready to go, go, go.

Even if your child is doing well in school, I would encourage every parent to get the assessment. Knowing your child's strengths and what areas where focus might be needed is SUCH a relief and gives you a priceless map to their success in school.

The testing skills our third grader is learning is not only preparing her for Star Testing, but for ACTs and SATs.

The question is not whether you can afford the help...it's can you afford to let the tiny cracks become the falling wall at some point in your child's education?

My son, Aiden, has been attending Sylvan Learning of Allen for two years, starting when he was in kindergarten. His first language is Vietnamese, and I was initially concerned that he might struggle to keep up with his schoolwork due to his limited English proficiency. However, the staff at Sylvan has been tremendously knowledgeable and supportive, helping him become very proficient in both reading and math.

Aiden's reading and math levels have not only caught up but have excelled beyond his current grade level. He is currently learning writing skills, and I have seen significant improvements in this area as well. One of the aspects I particularly appreciate is the monthly conference where the staff goes over my son's progress and answers any questions I might have. This regular communication ensures that I am always informed about Aiden's academic development.

I greatly appreciate the hard work and dedication of the staff at Sylvan Learning of Allen. Their efforts have been instrumental in keeping Aiden abreast with his academics, and I am confident that he is on a path to continued success. All of the tutors at Sylvan are very helpful and nice. They are even more helpful than some teachers at school. Mr. Shane is particularly good at explaining a variety of subjects.

Awesome place. My daughter needed help with Math post COVID year. In less than 1 year, Sylvan helped her gain confidence in Math and improve her testing scores. She no longer has anxiety when it comes to state tests. Thank you Sylvan!

My daughter took advantage of Sylvan's Study Skills course. This course has taught her strong organizational, time management, note taking and test taking skills. I have seen her take ownership of her own schedule, and manage her own time without prompting from me. She has started the school year off strong, and is taking pride in her work. The staff has worked with us to align her course time with her varied schedule. Everyone has been very helpful, caring and professional. I highly recommend both Sylvan of Allen, and the Study Skills course.

My daughter started taking lessons in July 2022. In a few short months, I’ve seen a huge improvement in her reading and comprehension skills. The team is outstanding, lead by an incredible director, Christine Huntington. The teachers are amazing; I never have to worry about who my daughter is paired with. Cody, the education coordinator, is also wonderful to work with. My daughter looks forward to all of her sessions! Highly recommend!!!
