New pricing is pretty crazy. I received partial highlights and was charged $100. They said it was due to the length of my hair, however I've gotten my hair done at the other IBMC schools many times, and it's the most I've been charged was $55 for full highlight, toner, and with students at a higher level (same length of hair). Also, $100 for partial highlights is close to and in some cases more expensive that going to a local salon. The student here was very sweet, but still learning and made a few mistakes with blotchy application of bleach that I now have to pay to correct elsewhere. It's a school for students to learn, so it's expected that can happen but for the school - your prices should reflect that.

I had really bad outcome at IBMC for hair coloring and I voiced my experience with only empathy. The instructors there don't really help the weak students and make sure they are doing it right and customer has to suffer. Student was so weak that she didn't even know basics which one usually knows even without any training and she was not even new there. I was told she was there from past 1 year when I called them to take the appointment which I really didn't care about thinking experienced intructors are there. I felt like student was young and needed more help and she would have done better job for sure. Instructor actually tells you that this is what you get for half price and you have signed up for that. Lafy instructor was snooty and racist is experience from my first time but I gave benefit of doubt. All I expected was correction but they refuse to give that too. Receiptionist there supports instructor and says her hair is also grey and not colored, so what....lol (felt like ganging up). I don't understand how can you say that. I feel really bad for student who paid and may have got loan to get trained and was literally struggling the whole time. I told her once she can get help if she wants. She called him once but hesitated to call him again amd again. He was busy chit chatting instead of helpng her. She didn't even wear gloves while coloring my hair. She didn't even wash my hair correctly. I saw some color in front but I thought that was only in front forhead but when I came home and scratch my head few times cause I was feeling itchy. I was shocked to see color in my nails everytime I scratched. Not only that be careful, instructors also bill you in incorrectly while students were honest about pricing. I corrected instructor two times I went there coz I had their price sheet.First instructor cheated on ounce of hair color used. 2nd instructor told me higher amount and I corrected him too. Instructors hardly care for students or customers and only interested in promoting their own salon. They tell you on face thats what you get in hald price. Please dont send your kids here, they will be mentally tortured by instructors. This is something I heard from local community. Instructors act like bosses there being rude and racist to customers. They need to be watched and coached so that poor students gets trained efficiently.People who have given 5 star reviews here, I highly doubt they are genuine.

On the verge of tears, been growing my hair out for couple of years and I asked for a simple cut. This simple cut turned into half my hair is shorter on one side. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?!? I get it's a hair college but even the instructor didn't catch it. Now having to go to a different salon to fix this mistake. He'll I should of just gone there in the first place

I got my haircut yesterday by Makenzie Hall. She did an EXCELLENT job and I'm very happy with how it turned out. The instructor checks with you and the student before AND after the service. The prices were great and everyone was very friendly. I'll be going back for sure.

Do not go here to get your hair colored!!! I can’t speak for haircuts or other services that they do here, but I can speak for color services, especially bonding services. I’ve come here twice now to get my hair done, and I want to know that none of this has been any fault of the students, but purely the fault of the instructors. I know that students are learning about placement and color theory and all of that I put none of the blame on either of the students I saw while I was there. I asked for a brighter blonde color both times that came in. And not once but twice did I leave with orange hair. I am familiar with hair and how I pull and how toning works and both times when I’ve asked for Ashy hair. They have used a warm toner on me and my hair turned out orange or very, very warm yellow. Today I pulled a very bright yellow that could’ve been toned into a beautiful blonde however, the instructor shows against my wishes to use a warm toner on my hair, which made me leave. Very disappointed. I was tearing up and expressed that I was unhappy, but the instructor did not seem to care and sent me on my way to pay upfront. I feel very sad to see that the students are not properly learning even when they have questions. The student who did my hair her instructor don’t you think this is too warm and the instructor said no no not at all and she even expressed to me that my hair was way warmer than when it came out of the foil which should’ve never ever happened if they would’ve used the correct toner. Please if you’re looking for cheap way to get your hair colored, do it anywhere else but here!!!

I attended IBMC starting June of 2023. Since the beginning me and my class as a whole experienced our teacher quitting in the middle of our school year. Not only causing drama within our school, but we all realized our teacher wasn’t teaching us what we were supposed to be learning. We all got handed a book while our teacher sat in the corner of the room gossiping and talking. We were in our senior session barely doing freshmen work. I can truly speak for me and my class and agree we didn’t learn anything. Since these unfortunate circumstances happened, we asked if there could be reimbursements or even extended classes/education that we can get to make up for all the time we lost when we could have been learning. Nothing was done or given. As for the rest of the school year, Keona stepped in and saved us! She went above and beyond. I could see she genuinely cared and wanted us to learn. My experience wasn’t good and it’s unfortunate that it went the way that it did. As for the other staff, Deb was very unprofessional and extremely hard to approach. For example, our school shares materials such as cotton balls, q-tips etc, we share these items with all programs. I went in the cabinet while Ms.Deb was in the classroom (with no on in there) and she told me that those materials didn’t belong to me and i wasn’t allowed to use such items. She said this with an attitude. This has happened more than once so it came to a point where i would stop using there supplies and i would use my own. Even after graduating, i feel like i still struggle with most things because i wasn’t educated. I would not recommend this school to anyone! Regarding the school and equipment, items are cheap, facial steamers and equipment never worked. Stains on all the sheets and blankets.
