It really is a very supportive college that wants to see their students succeed. Getting established with enrollment can be a bit challenging because there’s so much you have to get together. But once you’re established, you’re good to go. There are so many supports in place for students and their professors are amazing.

Capital Community College (now CT State Capital) is an outstanding institution, and I’m not just saying that because it’s my alma mater. The staff and administrators are genuinely friendly and supportive, making the college a welcoming place for all students.

During my time at Capital, I was a member of PTK and completed all my courses online. Despite being an online student, I always felt like a valued part of the college community, equal to those attending in person. The professors were knowledgeable, approachable, and committed to helping students succeed.

Although my time at Capital was brief—I completed my degree in just over a year thanks to previous credits from another CT community college—it was a highly rewarding experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this college to anyone in the Greater Hartford area considering community college.

Been trying to sign up here, for multiple semesters. Always ask questions. Never get replies. This sign up has been the worst. They literally just ignore your questions and emails. This school is horrible, don’t waste your money.

Currently I am a student at Capital CC. I am very happy to learn English as my second language here. The admission process was fast and easy, and all staff are very friendly and helpful. CCC has a lot of resources for all students. The most important thing for me is I can have a parking lot free in this busy area, so I only have to worry about my classes 😊

What a great second life for the old G. Fox building! This museum-like school has so much to offer: great variety of classes, convenient times, helpful staff.

The gentleman working in Financial Aid is phenomenal. It was very stressful trying to determine what the hold up was with my daughter's FAFSA approval so we decided to stop by the campus. The gentleman in Financial Aid solved our issue immediately and had the most pleasant, patient demeanor throughout our entire visit. He is wonderful. I wish I had written his name down. He most certainly deserves recognition!!!

I received my Associate's Degree from Capital Community College and then went on to get my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut. My experience at Capital C.C. was phenomenal. The professors were outstanding by being extremely knowledgeable, understanding, and accessible. The facilities were clean and modern. Everything about the school was wonderful. One of the school's attributes which set it apart from most other community colleges and universities is the accessibility to the professors and administration. At other school, it can be very difficult to get academic counseling. Some of the obstacles are that: You have to have an appointment scheduled OR You can only see academic counselors during a certain time of the semester. At Capital Community College - academic counselors are available anytime between like 8:00a - 4:00p (Monday - Friday). No appointment needed. It is amazing! Anytime you have a concern - you can meet with them.

Overall, Capital Community College is amazing and I could not be a more proud alumni.

Thank you, Capital!

If you get a chance to take a biology class with Adolfo Sanchez Blanco, do it. He lives for biology and will fan the flame of your curiosity into a billowing furnace of knowledge. He's amazing. Jennifer Thomassen is passionate about teaching communication in a Socratic way, so I also recommend her. Cleo Rolle didn't ever learn my name and never seemed to have the time or desire to help students understand difficult concepts. I think she may have this desire deep down, but for whatever reason she couldn't let it shine.

Regardless, my one-star review is not for the professors, but for school in general. Remember snow days? Were you happy or sad when you didn't have to go to school? If you hate school, don't go to school. Find your own way because it's the only way. If that way happens to include school, great, but don't assume that it does. Consider the possibility that a degree is not necessary in order to succeed.

The people running the schools have a vested interest in telling you differently. Their job is to tell you that you need them whether or not you do, so be aware of that conflict of interest when discussing your career goals with your advisor. "A degree shows employers that you will do your chores" -- Elon Musk. You can do more than chores. You have a dream. Follow it.
