Thank you to all the instructors and administration who help us along the way. It was great to get to know that I could ask someone a question and get a real answer. It was even great to know that each person brought a different experience level as well. If you choose to go to NETTTS know that your destiny is in your hands and you will get out of it what you put into it, show up and do the work. It will be worth it in the end.
My favorite part was getting to know the new friends that I have made along the way, we all come from various ages, backgrounds, career and experience levels. I look forward to the new path this school has afforded me.

I attended NETTTS in Somers, CT for their weekend training in an 8 week program, and it was a very positive experience for me. They were very clear with me up front about what I would be getting myself into and that they will provide the tools necessary to obtain my CDL, but it would be my effort that got me there, and they were spot on.

The first two weeks you go through the manual and cover everything necessary to get your permit and they do an excellent job of keeping it as fun as reading a manual can be, while emphasizing the material you are likely to see on your test. I made sure to utilize the apps they recommend for studying outside of the classroom and with the in-person lessons coupled with my own studying I was able to pass all three tests with no problem.

Next, you move out to the yard to begin your driving training which will prepare you for your driving test. There are several stations you will rotate between to practice each technique necessary to pass. Be patient, understand your weaknesses, ask questions, and take advantage of the time you have behind the wheel. Again, I suggest you utilize YouTube on your off time if you don't understand a technique or even a driving skill such as shifting a 10 speed. Practice your pre trip every day until you can do it in your sleep, I'm not kidding, I had dreams of doing a pre trip for weeks. Using the instructors guidance at school paired with a more in depth explanation in a video can be huge and give you different ways to look at the technique you are trying to master. Then, take your time and practice as much as you can. It can be easy to get frustrated but you are learning to do something for the first time but remember it can be done, stay focused.

My biggest piece of advice I can give is to stay on them about getting you drive time on the road! They have a lot of students (and only a few road instructors) all under a time crunch and all with different levels of experience, you could easily fall through the cracks when it comes to drive time. This was the one area that almost cost me when it came to test day but thankfully I was able to pull it off by keeping in mind the important lessons they gave me. Only you know how ready you are. It goes by faster than you think, understand your progress and focus on improving your shortcomings. NETTTS will give you the tools to pass, you need to take it upon yourself to utilize them wisely.

I passed first try thanks to NETTTS and their knowledge staff. While I was still in training, their wonderful job placement team (Chelsea and Lenny) worked hard to understand what I wanted to do after graduating and they helped me get a job lined up before I even passed my test. The week after I passed, I started my new job with a very reputable company and after 6 weeks of additional training I'm proud to be in my own truck with them, and I can't be more thankful to NETTTS for providing me with the foundation to do something so great.

Honestly I regret not going to another school. This place is so poorly managed that most of the instructors (because they are not teachers) suck. All of them teach differently they don’t have a procedure that they follow. When you go to school a lot of times they’re on their little corner talking to each other. I had one tell me to go learn with other students because that was the best way to learn. So what was the point of me paying for school if I have to learn from another student? And self teach myself? If you go on Saturday’s and Sundays for shifting drills is only until 12pm because the instructor that’s giving the shifting drill leaves at that time. You also have to sign up for it, mind you the classes on the weekends are 10 hours long. So why are the shifting drills only until 12? So what’s the point of having so many instructors? The trucks suck, they use the excuse that they use old trucks because the students don’t know how to use them or because the students will mess them up, so if they invest in the trucks it would be a waist of money. Maybe if they properly teach the students that wouldn’t happen. Mind you we are paying the school for this service. Is $12,000 that we pay for this, with how many students they have and the little trucks that they own they should be able to afford up-to-date trucks, or atleast trucks that work properly. Oh and a lot of the trucks don’t have air conditioner for the summer or heating for the winter so is either going to be extra hot or extra cold. I can’t wait to be done with this place. Oh and I’m a MA student. CT students get their licenses way faster than us…

Very great instructors and all staff are friendly.
But there is a huge gap in communication and organization don’t be surprised if you have to fill out paperwork over and over again because they lose it. Another thing is the recruiter is 80% honest I was told there would be an extra certificate we get on top of our cdl which never happened. Also my training was a week shorter then what they told me so I had to take time off and come in on my own time. If you want to do class A I would be cautious but for class B forget about it. It’s a very obvious money scam YOUVE BEEN WARNED

I started going to NETTTS in January 2024 and i love it. They help you with everything from knowing your laws to maneuvers. Great group of people dedicated to helping you get your CDL and i ask a lot of questions. Some of them may be dumb but they always answer them with no problem and always helped me. Anyone considering getting their CDL should definitely come to NETTTS in Somers, CT
