Horrible waited more than 5 weeks for the location where my kids will be attending school and its a week before school and still nothing. I'm new to ct and if this is how they operate this is horrible. Who gets not one but two kids prepared for a new school one week before. They don't take into consideration you have to know if the school wears uniform or regular clothes the location nothing. How can someone prepare. Very unprofessional. And I've been calling for more than 5 weeks and leaving messages and nobody answers or returns my calls. Get new people for the job if they can't handle it.

My son was enrolled in Wexler Grant Elementary School in New Haven. I was very disappointment with some levels of the way he was treated by staff members in an environment that was suppose to keep him safe. From the way they handled him physically and the foul language that was used directly to him in an inappropriate manner by the in school suspension teacher. I have filed formal complaints with the New Haven Police department and will be filing something in writing with the New Haven Board of Education. Needless to say I have already pulled my child from the school since I didn't feel he would be safe after he came forward with what was going on in the school.

Horrible. Signed my daughter up for school and till this day I never received a call nor email to see when she will be starting preK. They never answer the phone and I signed my daughter up for preK since March and still nothing.

august 2017 - our daughter attended the esum school. her experiences were not positive. we entered the 'school lottery'. we have been down to the board of education seven times since school ended. at her school of choice she was ( #7), a couple weeks later she had been upgraded to (#6). since that we have not been contacted at all. we continued to go to the building. no one would explain the process, or help navigate the school minefield. school starts next week, and we have no school slot.
all the workers are all reading from the same script - say nothing. i have had some horrible experiences at the DMV , nothing worse than this agency. transparency is the popular key phrase these days - this new haven board of education is as transparent as a stone wall.
