My grandson just completed his driving program with Next Street in Southbury. Kevin Wilkes was his driving instructor and from my perspective he was simply amazing working with my grandson. Really disappointing experience. I paid for the 30 hour course with 8 hours driving plus the extra mock test lesson and to take the test at the school. While the instructor was great scheduling was awful. You have to stalk the website and there was often no appointments available in Southbury. I even had to pull my daughter from school early to get her in. Then the day of the driving test was after a snow. The area where they had to back in to a parking spot was still snowy making the lines hard to see. She touched the line and failed. Her appointment time was early and at that point only one out of 5 had passed and others were upset by the line situation. 1 out of 5 isn’t a great passing rate and if I had known what a pain the whole experience would be I would certainly have spent my money elsewhere.

The Next Street was great! Very comprehensive program as well as very flexible scheduling for students and families. Our son just passed his driver’s test on the first try! Shout out to Bob Zaums for his knowledge of the test and detailed instructions on how best to pass and feel comfortable throughout it. Thanks again! Our daughter is also currently enrolled. Highly recommend!

Ari is a terrific driving instructor. He taught my son how to deal with the most challenging aspects of driving. What a confidence booster! My son had a huge smile on his face when he came back from his lesson. What a huge difference Ari made in his driving. Immediate results! Thank you, Ari! We had a great experience. The class room the driving was all top notch. I wish I could remember all the teachers names. We worked with Bob Zaums the day of the test. He was good at giving my son some last minute reminders and helping him stay calm and ready for the test. I am glad to say with the schools help he passed first try. Thank you

Absolutely great place to learn how to drive. I had the instructor Ari, twice, for my 3rd and last driving lesson. Hands down the best instructor there. Not only is he great at going through and explaining things, but he has lots of tips and tricks to make you a better driver. He also gave me some papers on the reasons why people fail, and a slideshow to read through to make sure I knew the rules. I have my drivers test next week, and hopefully I’ll pass. If you happen to get him as an instructor for a driving lesson— you’re lucky. You’ll definitely learn a lot, chit chat, and become a better driver in the long run, not just for the test. (Which is important)
