My friends and I came to the Lyme Art Association while walking and exploring through town. There were so many beautiful pieces, and more exhibits than I was expecting! The woman in attendance gave a wonderful overview of the art and artists, and made us feel very welcome.

Definitely worth the trip. There collection of American Art is first rate. I particularly like the descriptions of each painting and work of art. If you are in the area or just looking for a destination on the weekend to spend some time, check out the Lyme Art Associations.

Wonderful place, lots of variety of art in a great town, definitely worth a look. I recommend hitting this and the Griswold museum on the same trip since they are close together

A lovely space filled with extraordinary artwork! I really appreciated the current landscape theme, so thoughtful and provoking! The museum is a perfect location for a special occasion event, reunion, small wedding, or business networking. A Connecticut must see!!

I visited the museum on a weekday around lunchtime and it was not busy. There were about 4 other visitors in the museum. The staff member informed me that all of the pieces are for sale. Most of the pieces are paintings and there are some sculptures as well. They range in price from about $100 to a couple thousand dollars.
The exhibit changes every 6 weeks or so. The next exhibit will be on display the first week in November and will feature smaller art pieces that will be less expensive and more appropriate for holiday gift giving.
