This was my first impression of a Library, as a child in the late 70s, early 80s. A beautiful, marble home of tales of wonders and faraway lands. I remember when we learned that we could borrow 45s from the record section, and our dogs chewed one of them. 😭

I learned about Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale. I wish I could remember more. I devoured books and soaked up information like a sponge. Dinosaurs!🤩

My sibling had piano lessons just up the hill, so I got a weekly library treat, it was wonderful!

I was saddened to hear that the library and it's books got moved into the old A&P, but a library is a library. And I'm glad this building is now the Historical Society/Musem/?, at least. Not demolished for some unattractive corporate building.
I wish I still lived closer! I would visit often!

Ample library of specialized sources, many generated by their members. It would be 5 stars, but their ban on photographic note taking and their need, as a private organization, to keep their fees and prices for research high, I see as a drawback. Nice folks ~ Genial atmosphere. Also...across the street from a great bookstore called, "Pourings and Passages.
