Camp in the middle of nowhere. Which is great for a summer camp! Nice waterfront for the scouts and it was very clean from what we saw. The dining hall was quite large and could accommodate several troops by the look of it. Kind of a hike down a steep drive from the parking lot to the dining hall to meet the scouts. Although golf cart rides were available for non-ablebodied folks, it was not readily clear that was what the carts were for. They appeared to be security.

Wow, this is well off the beaten path & I the price is reasonable. It's obvious this place is very popular and has return clientele. The location is remote and we only stayed one night but, it was well organized and not in disrepair.

Camp Mattatuck is a 80 years old site with 500 acres of land just outside Waterbury, CT. It is a convenient Boy Scout camp site for troops and packs around Waterbury. The site is open for all seasons.

Camp Mattatuck also hosts a variety of seasonal events such as fishing derbies, klondike derbies, camporees and a Halloween Haunted Woods.

The .22 caliber rifle range offers 8 bays for scouts to improve their marksman-ship. The climbing tower built in 2005 is nothing short of awesome. The tower is 40 feet tall and provides spectacular views of the lake for its climbers. The Archery range is awesome too. The Waterfront offers wide range of BSA approved water sports and activities.

COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) is an exciting outdoor activity for older scouts. It is designed to meet the needs of today’s scouts who are seeking greater challenges to their physical and mental abilities. PROJECT COPE is based around eight goals that form the backbone of the program. They are Teamwork, Leadership, Planning, Communication, Trust, Self-Esteem, Decision Making, Planning and Problem Solving.

This camp offers great summer and year round programs for Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts and Venturing. They meet the needs of the younger scouts and have a huge assortment of advanced activities for older scouts and adults.
