I am a current freshman at Michigan State University. Before leaving for college, I worked with MLS tutors for the better part of 3 years, including during covid. My experience with MLS was absolutely, no doubt, 100% positive. There are a wide variety of tutors to work with for different course materials and they are all professional, smart, and fun. I tried many tutors before finding MLS, and none of them seemed to work. I have to believe it is the friendly, welcoming experience that really made MLS the best tutoring option. I worked primarily with Katy and Stephen, both of which were incredibly helpful. MLS is the perfect option for students who need a little bit of help with knowledge retention, organization skills, assignment initiation, and everything in-between.

The tutors support my kids every step of the way by empowering them, not doing the work for them. They teach my kids the skills necessary to succeed in academics as well as important life-long skills like organizing and prioritizing.

Both of my kids have done tutoring at MLS and both have had amazing experiences. They support the kids in areas of weakness and push them ahead in areas where they excel.

I love that MLS covers topics the kids need to study that week. We used to go to a math only tutoring place that helped very little with the specific topics the kids were studying. (The kids had to do the proprietary worksheets for the organization, which they hated doing.) We gave up because it was such a battle getting the kids to go.

MLS is totally different. The tutors support the kids on exactly what they are studying in school. If the tutor is not expert in a particular area (French for example), then the tutor pulls in a French expert for that part of the session.

The tutors have access to the school's online homework and grades website for each child. This lets the tutor figure out what each child has to do, before the session begins. After each session, I get a follow up email with anything coming up that week like homework deliverables or tests. It has really helped my relationship with my kids that I am not the one "helping" them keep track of what they need to get done. And perhaps most importantly, my kids love going, so they learn more. We've tried all the tutoring places in McLean and MLS is by far the standout.
