Don’t go here, overpriced, extremely outdated, super low quality. Honestly they just want to make money off of you go somewhere else that wants to teach you. Theirs no true staff just one guy running the whole business, the website and pictures are extremely outdated, the pictures are from 10 years ago. There’s no actual school and location. The modules where you learn from you can find on Groupon for 10 dollars. I paid almost 700 dollars I had to fight for a refund after a horrible experience in the location he sent me to. Don’t go here. Go to 1800 bartending school in Long Island it’s a bit of a drive but that’s an actual school. This one is horrible I wish I would have seen a review before I came here warning me.

With out a doubt Bartender Academy is an excellent place to start your bartender journey. Lanie is a great instructor with a lot of knowledge in the field. You can ask her any question and she will have an answer for you. Peter is a great individual! He does everything in his power to find you a job as bartender. I had a great experience and I highly recommend Bartender Academy if you want to get in this kind of work.

Bartenders Academy in Waterbury CT is outstanding. They helped me find a new exciting career what could be better? The team has come up with a new curriculum that is streamlined in the sense that, it allows students to learn the most popular and classic drinks more easily. Thanks to the extended time frame which is about 7 weeks, compared to the old 4 week curriculum (not offered anymore). All members of the staff have something to offer in the knowledge department, they are attentive and experienced in bar tending. Personally not knowing anything about bar tending and then learning about the craft, inspired me to find a job and push myself. You can tell the staff here is passionate and dedicated to the advancement of the bar tending craft. If you have the drive and determination, then this course is for you. As far as the job placement goes, don't expect to have your hand held like anything in life. you have to show you're interested, serious, and dedicated. The leads are reliable and if you continue to hunt you will find a job, in a new exciting craft that is only growing everyday.

I went to Bartenders Academy five years ago and was just raving to a friend how thankful I am that I ever went. Anyone can learn recipes off a card. That’s not what I took away with me when I left. Peter is the only person who taught me how to properly open/close a bar, use the tools they have behind the bar, and how to approach high volume.

I have worked at three bars since I left here and not one Owner or Manager has ever shown me how they expect me to break down/set up a bar. I can’t tell you how valuable that information is when you get hired most people just expect you to know how to do it…and those who don’t know have dirty bars that aren’t maintained!

I started off in dives but over the past three years I’ve found myself in a very high volume bar having the time of my life with my crew and my customers. Thank you Peter for setting the foundation to a fruitful career for me!

If you are considering this course because you want to be more prepared behind a bar, TAKE THE CLASS!!

The Bartenders Academy is nothing shy of love and professionalism combined. From clear communication upon a warm greeting from Sydney to patience and guidance from Peter all throughout my academic journey along side enthusiastic support and direction from Laney and Kristine - I’m thoroughly pleased with my experience!

Noteworthy:
- Prior to attending BA, I had never been behind a bar
- What began as a 6 week course was concluded 6 months later thanks to personal reasons, a process which was greeted with patience and understanding
- The very day I received my certificate for passing practical I also received my first job offer
- Fast forward to today (one month after graduating) and I now have my second job

Bartenders Academy Is well worth the money & the time. Besides learning an extensive amount of recipes, they also teach you about all the bar tools, bartender etiquette, glass selection and much more. The instructor Jeanie, was an exceptional teacher!
