I have ask them to help me in the past. They send me to bureau of rehabilitations, which is pretty much a joke. I was trying to find work for them for over two years. Part time. I have 2° and I walk to work and because of my disability not me working I don’t really have much experience. I will say this sub Brs did help me to get a disability, so I am grateful for that but barely enough to live on and I need help but I do not get it.

This is an update to my original post. Wow! All I can say is, wow! What a difference a year makes. Bethel now has a real social worker in charge of social services. Megan Alworth-Khazadian, is truly a miracle worker. She is more than just a fountain of resources. She really listened to me, and not only did she want to help me, she actually did help me! Mind you, I've only met with her once. In that one visit, she did more for me than the almost 10 years I've been dealing with Danbury social services. While on the phone with Megan, making my appointment, I mentioned that I was having shoulder surgery the next day. I met with her an hour later, and to my surprise, Megan had a bounty of gifts that will definitely help me while I'm laid up. A blanket was just one of these gifts. A blanket! This is one of many examples of what makes Bethel such a special place. Of what makes Megan such a special person.

Have found nearby towns to offer significantly better resources, demonstrate more care/compassion/concern, and most importantly … communicate effectively and efficiently w/those who reach out for services.

Waste of time, and tax payers dollars
