Brain Balance has changed my son's life and our family's! My son is back to being a happy, thriving child. He is now able to channel his emotions positively, to have fulfilling relationships with peers and has drastically improved his school and home life. He was excited to go to Brain Balance every time; he met wonderful friends and was cared by wonderful professionals who have children's best interest in mind at all times. I will highly recommend the Brain Balance Center of Wilmington to any parent or guardian who is looking to improve a child's life.

We chose to do the Brain Balance program for our 7 year old daughter because she was struggling so much socially. She wasn’t able to make friends, didn’t participate in activities and couldn’t respond to people she didn’t know. She also really struggled with processing and had some sensory issues. The first time I spoke to someone at Brain Balance I felt like they truly understood my daughter’s struggles and knew how to help. Now she has made so much progress socially. She’s making friends and wanting to be involved in activities with other kids. We have seen such an improvement overall in her comprehension and processing. We are so thankful for Brain Balance and all of the hard work they put in to help our daughter.

My daughter recently completed 9 months of the Brain Balance (BB) program. Her initial BB assessment showed that she had retained all 8 primitive (infant) reflexes and that her right brain hemisphere was considerably weaker than her left. This was not surprising, as she had been diagnosed with autism, PDD-NOS, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADD and a crippling phobia of animals so severe my child did not want to leave our home.

We came to BB of Wilmington in 2023 seeking help with the above issues. We had been through the carousel of therapies including: ABA, speech, occupational and cognitive behavioral therapies, but saw little improvement before completely plateauing.

The BB program has drastically benefited my child. Not only is she no longer terrified of dogs and cats, but she now adores animals and even has a puppy! I see in her an empathy towards animals and little kids that never existed before the BB program. Prior to BB, she experienced a lot of anxiety over potential health problems, despite being a physically healthy kid. She no longer worries about contracting diseases or developing chronic conditions.

I see physical changes too. She is much stronger and her left eye wanders much less. I no longer have to beg, bribe or threaten her to go outside and play. She is much more confident riding her scooter and bicycle and actually enjoys being outside now.

Academically, her handwriting is still sloppy, but she can now write in a straight line. Dyscalculia is still an issue, but she has more confidence and a better attitude approaching maths.

We still have much work to do in areas of motor planning and execution, body awareness and working memory, but now I understand why the other therapies did not work for my child. If the foundational reflexes are damaged or non-existent, the brain needs to be strengthened first before diving into traditional therapies such as occupational and speech. We continue to strengthen her primitive reflexes and are now addressing the other two dozen lifespan reflexes through additional therapies.

The BB coaches we worked with were absolutely fantastic at motivating my child to work hard and invest in the program. In fact, she loved going to the BB center so much that I had to pull her out of there most days. The program is tough but the coaches make it super fun and challenge the participants to reach new goals each week. No one will care about my child's development as much as I do, but the BB coaches came quite close! I would recommend to any parent who has concerns about their child to get a BB assessment and work the program designed for your child. You will be amazed by the results!

Brain Balance was a wonderful experience for my family. The staff was super friendly and inviting and offered a wealth of knowledge! The center was clean and welcoming! The program was curtailed to our families needs and we saw great progress during our time there. We are glad that we can continue to get emails inviting us to participate in parent education classes on a variety of topics. I highly recommend Brain Balance of Wilmington!

From birth, our son was always on the go, constantly moving and chasing after his older brother. In Kindergarten, his high-energy and persistent fidgeting caused his teacher to recommend he repeat the grade as, in her eyes, he lacked the maturity to progress to First Grade. Our son had reached every milestone for Kindergarten; he loved to read and enjoyed math. Repeating Kindergarten would cause additional issues due to boredom. We turned to our physician who stated his behavioral issues per his teacher (constant wriggling in his chair, rushing from one task to another, etc.) were indicators of ADHD and stated medication could assist him. As we were concerned with potential side effects from the medication, we began to research alternative methods and discovered Brain Balance.

Through my son’s sessions (both in-person and virtual) with the wonderful, compassionate, brilliant, and caring Brain Balance coaches, our entire family was provided with a multitude of tools to assist us in helping my son become stronger and more focused in his journey. We, as parents, were given behavioral guidance, nutrition information and encouragement by all his Brain Balance Coaches. It really was like having his own cheering squad. His Brain Balanced Coaches rejoiced during his wins and collaborated with us during his losses. They encouraged him to do his best and helped him through his frustrations. They taught us as parents how we can better communicate with our son and to understand his difficulties and support him. They were even willing to collaborate with his teachers to discuss methods to assist him in school.

Today, my son is in the Fourth Grade and is on his way to obtaining First Honors in the first trimester. He ran for student council, plays soccer, is learning to play the guitar, is outgoing, and in his Fourth-Grade teacher’s words, “an intelligent and kind boy.”

I know the future will contain various obstacles, but my son (and our entire family) feel more confident that with the tools we now have, he can and will work hard to succeed. Brain Balance has allowed our son to continue to be his true self and paved a way for his future. We cannot thank you enough for everything!

Brain balance for our child in the beginning seemed like a great idea. Our original discussion with the consultant before committing seemed to nail on the head all of the issues/concerns we had for our child. We were very excited to get involved. After we committed and followed through with several months of visits, we experienced worse symptoms from our child. We addressed these issues with brain balance staff and nothing got better. Keep in mind, this is a very short excerpt from our total experience. It was very expensive and my wife and I did not experience any positive changes in behavior. We felt robbed at the end of the ‘treatment’. We presented our experiences with our child to brain balance towards the end of the visits and no productive discussions or remedies were brought to us. To say the least, we were not happy with the end result. We were left worse off in the end then we began which was super frustrating for the cost of the program. We plan to readdress this experience with brain balance shortly. That being said, I’m sure this business doesn’t plan to have this happen to their clients. Our child may be a special case. However, we expected extra detail paid attention to our child regardless and extra reassurance to us as parents. We never received these expectations from brain balance. We still are very disappointed and are approaching a different facility for help. Good luck!
