Today was my dog’s pick up day from 203k9. I was already confident that my dog would thrive with the 203k9 team after sending my other dog there about a year ago for their 6 week board & train. This time, I sent my new dog for their 4 week board & train where he primarily worked with Jose and I can’t sing enough praises about the work they’ve done with him. Jose has been amazing - not only training my dog but also teaching me how to handle him. Jose not only worked my dog and boosted his confidence, but he boosted mine as well. The work the 203k9 team and Jose does is amazing and exemplary. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I highly recommend 203k9 and Jose to all dog owners, regardless of breed, size, and age - they truly know how to do their thing!!

Had the best experience with Marc, Jose and the team at 203K9. We live in the NYC area and our dog Mia would often be reactive on leash, lunging at people and getting us into some altercations on the street. She was also terrible off leash and with recall. We sent her for a 4 week board and train and Jose was her main trainer and she came back to us a completely different dog. She is now wonderful on leash, non-reactive, amazing at her heel command and also great at recall with the help of her ecollar (which we now barely have to use because she's so amazing at following her commands). 2 years post training and we could not have made a better decision. We can't wait to hopefully move back to the area soon to join group class. A million thanks to Jose, Marc & the rest of the 203K9 team!

Justin at 203k9’s Monroe location was everything my dog and myself needed. He was the third trainer we had worked with and by far the most accommodating, professional, considerate and above all got results.

My dog Axel needed some serious behavior modification as animals on tv would trigger him to the point I was doing drywall work. Bears were one of the big issues, and as you can see by the photo attached, bears aren’t nearly as scary anymore. Walks had become more trouble than they were worth. bicycles had been a trigger since he was a puppy. Our dog was left behind on a lot of activities we would have loved to include him in and now he’s able to heel next to me while I ride a bike, take him to a pumpkin patch, walking trails etc etc. My dog has a whole new attitude towards training now and a willfulness to work and please, which had previously been lost.

Lastly the way my dog was able to bond with Justin through training was great to see. No one wants to leave their dog behind for 6 weeks while they are getting trained, but seeing the bond my dog and Justin developed made it a worry free experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to use 203k9’s services or facilities in the future and highly recommend them for any of your dog’s training needs.

203k9 is the BEST thing that's happened to me and my buddy. Axel, my king shepherd, and his main trainer Justin and I, created a bond that I could never had envisioned! SO thankful for the 4 week program. My dog is 100+lb and is a rescue, he was 11 m.o. He has never been aggressive however I could never get him to stop pulling and properly "heal". Defensive, never able to go to outdoor places with other dogs without him going into defense mode, hair up, thinking he has to "protect" me. Through talking with Justin and some of their other trainers, I was able to conclude my dog was dictating me more than I knew.
He is now 20 months old. After completing the program and a drive to AND back from CT to FL roughly 2400 miles. My dog is incredible. Our bond is no less than confidence inspiring. We're almost at off leash. (all the time) it's me who is liming that, still getting used to how much trust he deserves and has built!! They at 203K9 do a phenomenal job nailing the fundamentals into the right places and ensuring the owner and their furry friend has a respectful understanding in their communications.
My dog and I are forever grateful for Justin and 203K9. I recommend them for any dog and any owners need. From basic training to advanced training... They proved to be adaptable while always being extremely consistent. Google doesn't have enough starts for 203K9 and Justin!

Thank you 203K9, Justin, Steven and others.
With love,
- Axel & Giulian 10/10

203 K-9 has transformed my relationship with my dog, Rex!

Before 203 K9, it was a real struggle—Rex was unruly, and there was no structure. But thanks to the incredible support and encouragement from Justin, everything has changed. 203 K9 is truly the real deal. Now, I can finally enjoy taking Rex for a walk, and he’s not the one walking me anymore, haha! I highly recommend 203 K9 to anyone looking for effective training and a better bond with their dog.

When 203k9 came up with their mission/main goal being to “enhance the relationship between YOU and YOUR BESTFRIEND” — they were not kidding!!

At 203k9 you are met with experienced professionals who are also personable, patient, and persistent (Triple P!). We had the privilege and honor of working with Trainer Jose Velazquez. Jose not only exemplified every quality we hoped to find in a trainer, but also exuded a love of dogs you could spot a mile away. He quickly became one of Kane’s (our Doberman Pinscher Puppy) favorite people. In that and his commitment to the betterment of Kane, he gained our trust — which made it easier when we dropped Kane off for a board and train, we knew he was in good hands.

In the span of ONE WEEK, Kane was already walking off leash and “down”ing as told, while in the vicinity of 203k9. In the span of 3-4 weeks Kane was walking off leash, running, stopping, all while heeling next to Jose (at a longer distance). By our last week, we were able to have Kane go into a mall with us, and wait outside while we shopped - all while simply being told to “down” and “stay”. We came into 203k9 with a 4 month old puppy that: would bite/rip at our clothes, jump up on us and strangers, pull on the leash trying to run after dogs/people, chase after our cat, bark excessively, and not hold any commands — TO a 7 month old puppy who graduated from 203k9: Does not bite/rip clothes anymore. Doesn’t jump up on strangers unless allowed/okayed, doesn’t pull on leash (dramatically!) AND can walk off leash/heel/be recalled to our sides, doesn’t pay attention to others or strangers and can hold his commands for a good amount of time for a puppy! Jose was patient with us, and any and every question we had. Anything he worked on with Kane, we received pictures/videos of and would tell us that if we wanted more we could ask for it with no problem. Communication is great within the trainers and owners in 203k9. He also had us come in 1-2 a week, and was open to working with our work schedule. Jose helped us immensely, especially for being first time owners with a high-drive/working breed like a Doberman Pinscher. Because of him Kane is a better behaved dog BUT we are also better overall owners!! Kane and so many other pups are testaments to the work and magic that happens in 203k9. Jose was/IS a great trainer and we would recommend him to anyone with any puppies, high-drive dogs, aggressive or overall just any confidence boost/relearning that may need to happen between owner and pup. There are free evaluations done, where you can assess with the trainers what they recommend may be needed or your wants!

Overall, 203k9 is a godsend! The facility is filled with dog-lovers who are there FOR you and your dog, and you feel it. Price-point is affordable compared to a lot of other training facilities we came across and overall, like named before everyone is so much more personable and basically LIKE FAMILY. Steven, the owner/who runs and also trains within 203k9 is surrounded by individuals like himself, who are committed to the betterment of the dogs they handle. Just to name a few of the names that we would also recommend: Of course: Steve, Kevin and Scotty!! All amazing trainers in their own ways!! BUT honestly, you would not be disappointed with any pick within 203k9. Steve knew what he was doing when he selected his family!!

203k9 has been has been absolutely life changing for me and my family. From the moment we met Steven and his warm welcoming during the meet and greet to show us the faculty and meet our Bart we knew we were at the right place. We did their 4 week board and train and I can’t say this enough but it has been life changing. From setting things up with Mari at the front desk to working with Steven to get things started with our guy. All the trainers are fabulous but I must shout out Barts main trainer Scotty who worked tirelessly with our stubborn boisterous guy. When we brought him there he wasn’t good at all on the leash, had some leash reactivity, and over all hyper friendly guy who didn’t know his place and didn’t know his own strength. It became to a point where the only person that could walk him was my husband. In our wildest dreams there did we think we would get to where we are now. He no longer pulls, listens to commands, is off leash, can go to places with us like the mall, stores and act correctly. We ALL can walk him now. I have had so many people already stop us in just the week he has been home and say wow what a well behaved dog. We can’t thank Scotty enough. He stuck with our boy and we are so appreciative. Bart loved him and at one point I was like wait is he gonna want to come home lol. In just those 4 weeks he had learned so much. Amazing. If you are looking for professional trainers that really know what they are doing this is your place. Don’t be hesitant to do the board and train I was at first to leave him for so long but it’s honestly the best decision we have ever made. It’s the best thing you can do for you and your dog to live a happy long life together being able to share the many adventures yet to come. Before I wasn’t sure if we could have those adventures but now I know we can!! I am so excited and grateful to continue being part of the 203k9 family. Possibilities are endless when you have the proper support around you for you and your dog. Again thank your 203k9 especially Scotty for all you have done!! The best of the best!!

I adopted a dog and all the information about the dog was not given to me. They said he is just a little scared but that was not the case. He was extremely nervous and was too scared to leave the crate, attacked the leash, was afraid to eat and needed immediate help. I was afraid i was overreacting and that maybe one week wasn't enough time of having the dog. Jose came over and very quickly determined they didn't tell me everything about the dog and he needs help. So I sent Peanut Butter in for 6 week board and train and Jose changed my dog entirely. He no longer fights the leash. He is more ok with loud noises and rarely gets scared. Jose allowed me to visit extra so my dog wouldn't forget and we could get the extra bonding time since we never got it in the beginning. He has been home for 4 days now and is already a couch potato and loves going on walks. Has no issue getting in the car or meeting new people. JOSE did an amazing job and the people at 203k9 actually care. Even the trainers that weren't assigned to him all knew his name and were all happy about his progress. It was a big transformation and im forever grateful for Jose and the team at 203K9.
