My son was getting ready to take a standardized test for GTAP identification for a 4th grader in Math and Reading. Larry and his staff worked with him and he ended up getting a 99 percentile on his exam. They are very attentive and understand all the the testing from grade school through high school. Highly recommend this business and will be coming back any time that my child is struggling with a subject or getting ready for important tests. Tell them that the Blanchard's sent you their way and you get a free hour on sign up.

While I don't think this is the normal experience most kids have, I do have to share our journey. My son came home from 2nd grade in September with number lines and drawing pictures before figuring out math problems. Due to this, I noticed he started loosing his ability to do mental addition and subtraction, started counting on his fingers again, and started needing and relying on things to help with simple math (like 2+4).

As a parent this is frustrating in and of its self. Then MAP testing came just before Christmas, and he had only grown 1 point for the first half of the year. This is a child who is in G&T and grew 20 points total last year with an amazing teacher. After speaking with his teacher, she assured us he was on pace and doing amazing! In fact he got a ES in math on his report card. That was our final straw. Due to pull apart math and other math we did not agree with, we decided to pull him out of public school, which lead us to realize how far behind he would be in private school for 3rd grade.

In comes Tutoring Club! At entry my son took a math assessment, showing that by late March he had only been able to test 70% to grade level for second grade. Very discouraging, and definitely soured our stomachs more.

After being at the Toutoring Club for a month and a week, MAP testing came back around for the Spring. We told our son the same thing as always, try your hardest and we will be happy with whatever you bring home. After a month, he shot up 16 points! Not only that, but now instead of doing pull apart math, he is doing "old school" math that we learned in the 80s and 90s. When he started doing it at school, he started getting 100s on math papers instead of 78/80s.

While I realize this is not a ordinary story and this won't be the story for all, I do have to credit The Tutoring Club for finding the missing piece to the puzzle of math so it could finally snap into place! They took the time and found what he needed to unlock the block. For this, I am so thankful!

It has been exciting that he is thrilled to do math again! He asks us to make him hard math equations for him to solve. He loves going to tutoring, he looks forward to it and we never have to fight to make him go. He thinks Katie is super nice, and enjoys how she builds him up.

I highly reccomend The Tutoring Club for any kids with a hang up.

My daughter has been going to Tutoring Club for more than a year now. Larry and his staff have all been wonderful to her. They have been very accommodating to her changing needs, goals, and schedule. She first started going there to fill in the missing links with school materials. Then she started setting new goals for herself such as improving her MAP scores, preparing for IOWA and MSTC tests, and then taking the ACT exam. She has been working very hard with her tutors a few hours each week including in the summer and the result speaks for itself. She has brought up her MAP scores to where it was before COVID, got accepted into both Dunbar’s MSTC and Lafayette’s Pre-Engineering programs with 99 percentiles for both IOWA math and science, and scored well enough on ACT as an 8th grader to qualify for some special summer programs. This place is the backbone of my daughter’s education.

The Tutoring Club was fantastic in helping my daughter boost her ACT score. She had a good score after taking it a couple of times, but she really wanted to get to the next benchmark. She went to the Tutoring Club twice a week for four weeks between tests and her score was increased by three points! I couldn’t be more pleased. In addition, she truely enjoyed going. She really liked each of the tutors who helped her.

In less than 2 months, my son has gained so much confidence with his reading and writing. He looks forward to his time at the Tutoring Club because the token and reward system makes it fun for him! It is easy to schedule and change visits, and we appreciate the late evening appointments to fit in with our busy schedule.

My niece was struggling in school, especially in math. She started tutoring in April and is much more confident. Her math skills immediately started improving; she now says that math is her favorite subject! All the credit and thanks to her tutors!
