Reading Corps is great! I served for a year before student teaching. I didn't feel quite confident enough to head my own classroom. Even though I worked one-on-one with students, I feel so much more confident in my teaching and classroom management abilities. It's so awesome to be able to see the students' progress weekly and be able to tell them how they've improved in a week, a month, or since they started with me! Support struggling readers by becoming a tutor!!

I am currently exiting from Americorps as a reading tutor and this was the most unprofessional job I have ever had. They do not offer support. communication is very limited. If you want to be watched like a hawk and be micromanaged, this job is for you. If you ever have anything personal going on like an important doctors appointment, this job is not for you.

I have really enjoyed my time with MathCorps! I have been serving as a tutor with MathCorps this school year and I can only think of good things to say. The way the program is set up really allows students to thrive and grasp concepts they have been struggling with. The supervisors as so helpful and kind, with a great support structure built into the program. To see a student success after so much hard work is truly the best!!!

I was scared at first thinking what am I doing I can't teach children. But Minnesota Reading Corps is the best thing I have done. They make it so easy You don't even have to think about what to say it's all written out for you. I was only going to do it for a year and this is my 3rd year. I have even made use of their college education money you get and I will be getting my associates degree in early child education in June. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is my second year serving as a Scolar Coach through Minnesota Reading Corps. The training and support given to tutors is outstanding. What I wasn't expecting was how much I would learn from the students and about myself. It is the hardest, best, and most important work I've ever done.
