Coffee was delicious. Unfortunately, it was almost 3:30 pm and the flavored coffee was out. I was told they wouldn't brew a new pot because it was too close to closing which was 5 pm. The server didn't offer to even add a flavor to my house decaf instead told me to pick from what was left. Customer service was 100% disappointing.

In the charming downtown of Essex, CT is a little coffee shop located across the street from the historic Griswold Inn.
The coffee quality is exceptional here. With beans from local coffee roasters you really can’t ask for more.
The staff are very accommodating, and the cafe clean.
This spot is truly a hidden gem if you haven’t discovered it yet, I’d recommend moving it to the top of your list!

This is a lovely little coffee shop that my wife and I will stop at on occasion. They have new, seasonal drinks every time we go! We like to stop, get our coffee, and then walk down to the dock on the river.
