My son, age 9, has been doing Kumon with Tallahassee North for one year. Kumon's curriculum has greatly helped with his knowledge of math facts and its philosophy has helped him to grow his confidence and fluency with mental math. He recognizes how the practice of doing Kumon has supported and bolsters the math work he does at school. Further, the Center's co-directors and teaching staff are to be commended not only for their teaching, but for their encouraging, empowering, and compassionate approach. While Kumon itself is a set and progressive curriculum, the directors and teachers care very much about students' experiences and the fact that they are not only developing math skills, but mindset skills that will transfer to every aspect of their lives - academic and beyond. Therefore they are regularly in dialogue with students and parents about progress, motivation, and pacing to ensure a helpful and positive experience for students. We're very grateful for the wonderful work of Tallahassee's Kumon Center and the excellent leadership of its directors, Maria and Jorge.

We started Kumon when my daughter was 4 and she was having trouble with recognizing letters. We tried working on it by ourselves at home as her pre-K teacher suggested but we were all getting frustrated with her not able to catch on. We started Kumon reading and in the past year she went from not knowing her letters to reading ahead in her class. The instructors seem to really care about the progress and process for the child, they want it to be pleasant for her and to go at her own pace. We are happy with her results and will encourage friends to look into Kumon for their children as they are starting school.

We have been thrilled at the success our daughter has had at Kumon! She already had an aptitude for math but has jumped almost 2 grade levels ahead since starting at Kumon. The staff is knowledgeable and provides an excellent balance between accountability and caring for each student. Communication between staff and us parents has been excellent and her confidence grows every day… Not only in math but just in herself because of the encouragement and support she receives there. I strongly recommend Kumon whether your child needs a little extra help or is already a strong academic performer.

My two kids started Kumon a year ago and I see big improvement in them for math and reading. I believe education for the kids it's like building a house which has to have a strong foundation. Kumon is the best choice for them to achieve that goal. Having extra homework is not always easy for kids at the early age, but it teaches children to challenge themselves and never give up which is another valuable lesson. Maria, Gorge and all the Kumon tutors are very responsible and encouraging. The pandemic has been a challenge for everyone including our lovely children. Maria and Gorge has always put the children's safety first, like wearing masks in the center, checking the children's temperature and hand sanitizing before enter the center. I totally feel safe for the kids to be in the Kumon center twice a week for the practice. I am glad I signed my kids up for Kumon. It's totally worth it!

After a year of online school during Pandemic my daughter’s grades dropped significantly. She was struggling with math. I was very happy to have found Kumon Math Center where my child received necessary help to improve her math skills. Her grades significantly improved and i was very relieved. This center is amazing and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Totally worth it!

Kumon has helped my son abruptly. It is amazing to see him enjoy doing math and reading exercises at such a young age. The staff is very friendly and supportive. They allow the children to learn at their own pace and use smart methods to enhance their motivation. I highly recommend this academic center!

Kumon has been a great experience for my family. I have a 3rd grader with an IEP and the program helps him with areas that he’s struggling in without making him feel overwhelmed. The structure of the program helps him learn to work independently but offer him staff assistance when he needs help. It’s helping him build confidence in reading and comprehension which he struggles with. Maria and Jorge are great owners with an awesome support staff.

Kumon has helped my daughters tremendously. I pulled my daughter out of VPK in 2020 and I am not a teacher by any means. Kumon helped her learn to read and has continued to help her excel in school. I have recently started my 4 year old as well.

Everyone at the center is great and works well with the kids. Maria and Jorge especially do such an amazing job and even when my youngest has thrown a fit in the middle of the center they take it in stride and we’re able to get her back on track. I really can’t say enough good things about Kumon, and the Tallahassee center. They have certainly helped my girls excel and not be intimidated by school work.
