There's an amazing children area in one of the historic houses on the green. It might be too small if more than 3 children where playing, but we were there alone and so it was amazing.

Edit:
I've now been inside and my 3 yr old won't stop demanding to go play with the cars in the museum. There's an interactive toy shop that has kept him entertained for hours, and a holiday train exhibit that he'll faithfully watch for almost half an hour.

For adults, there's an exhibit on the history of the area, which is pretty interesting and takes 1-2 hour to go through.

Overall, small but thoughtfully child friendly. Probably best for elementary school children for playing, older ones might be interested in reading the exhibits. I think it's pretty well priced for its size and contents. We got a membership because I'm pretty sure my son is going to drag me here at least once a month.

Great history lesson about Fairfield! Although the museum was small it contained something for everyone. A costume fort for kids, historic census for genealogy enthusiasts, immigrant welcome gallery, artifacts for the historian and integrated technology through video. Arriving shortly before closing we were still able to see the full Museum. We purchase the comic entitled "The Culper Ring -The Spies of George Washington" As graphic novel enthusiastic we enjoyed purchasing the local comic produced by the Fairfield Museum.

A nice quick museum covering local history. If anyone finds the hot air balloon in the aerial drawing of Bridgeport - let us know!
