Another top 5 town I was considering living in. Farmington is 10 miles away from Hartford and has approximately 27,000 people living in it; it is part of the Farmington Valley. The town was incorporated in 1645 and known as the "Mother Town"; parts of it were divided to create the following towns, Burlington, Southington, Berlin, New Britain, Plainville, Bristol, and Avon.

The landscape consists of woods, meadows and, rolling hills. There are many major companies that are located there, providing jobs for thousands. The schools are highly rated which makes Farmington a desirable place to live for families; crime rates are low which adds to the high rankings.

While driving around, I noticed nice houses, neighborhoods, and the landscaping was beautiful. The history is rich there; you can tell by the old and preserved homes. There are many parks and restaurants too. The con is, traffic can be heavy in the town center. The parks I've explored so far was not as nice as neighboring towns. All in all, I think this is a good town!
