We enjoyed the tour very much. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They recently came in possession of the original tannery across the street owned by the Grants. So that was pretty cool to see. I believe that is my first time seeing one. I do think they could benefit by having a nice visitor center with a short film and a gift shop. The tannery might be a good place for the visitor center. Highly recommend if you are into Presidential history or Ulysses Grant.

Georgetown has quite a bit of History as this was the place where Ulysses s Grant grew up. You can tour the home he lived in, the school he attended as well as driving around town and seeing all the murals and statue. The visitor center is on the horizon.

We arrived here on a cold and rainy spring day. They were closed. We did not realize they open in May. We called the number listed and Nancy arrived within 5 minutes to save the day! We really appreciated her! Also the animatronic of Grant as a child was so cool! So glad we made the drive up here to learn and see so many neat things

Very much enjoyed the lady docent walk thru and stories. My two grandson 13 and 8 really seemed to enjoy. Only wished they were set up to take debit and or credits as I wanted to buy grandsons tee shirts.

If you like Grant this is a must see.
The home is preserved and has some original pieces from when he lived there. Very friendly tour guides and relaxed atmosphere . The school house is also worth it, go see it. Great well preserved piece of Americana. Hats off to the couple that donated it!

This is a nicely restored home dating from the 1800's where U.S. Grant grew up. They have tried to recreate what it would have looked like with wallpaper, carpet, furniture, and paint. There is a volunteer guide who was a bit long winded but still informative. Worth the visit to see how a future president grew up and made his way in the world.
