If you are looking for flight instruction, good job, you have found the best people in the country.

I have gone to 3 flight schools (2 in lower 48), and the instruction and overall experience with Tammy and Darlene blew the others out of the park.

Yes, you may not be able to fly some
days due to the weather, but the days you do get to fly you will learn so much more than anywhere else.

The instructors really take their time with you and truly want you to become a successful pilot. They are not new CFIs trying to get hours to go to the airlines. One instructor even has over 40 years of instructing experience. The other instructor has been a life-long mechanic and can explain things from that side of things WAY better than just your average instructor.

Just do it, I promise you won’t regret it!

I had an outstanding experience training in my own floatplane with both Tammy and Darlene. They treated me like family and my training was very professional and thorough. Their many years of floatplane experience was very evident, helpful, and it was very enjoyable to go with people who love to fly and teach. The Sterling area is a great floatplane training ground, because there are so many different lakes to work out of and not the air traffic of other areas. I kept my plane at their lakefront property, which was very safe and sheltered. I would recommend this wonderful experience to anyone.

Trained with Tammy for my Private Pilot Tailwheel license and I could not be happier with my time. Tammy is attentive, fair, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. She will work around your schedule and has no problem with odd hours. Working towards your first license can be intimidating but Tammy eases all your woes and ensures you are ready for each step. My check ride, as well as one pre-check ride review flight was completed with Darlene. Darlene as well is extremely knowledgeable in her craft and cares for you as a pilot with a great focus on safety. I fully recommend both of these pilots to cover any of your training needs!

My float flying with Tammy and Darlene was some of the most memorable flying I've done since I started flying 20 years ago. The PA-18 is very nice compared to most. The secluded lakes, mountains, and glaciers in the area provide some of the most amazing scenery you will find anywhere.

Loved working with these ladies. They have such a beautiful place to fly out of and so close to lakes, glaciers and other airports. A perfect "Alaskan" experience. I got the chance to work with both of them. They walked me through training with grace, helped answer my multitude of questions as well as provided a challenging yet constructive training curriculum. I have since recommended them to many of my friends passing through for training or flight seeing and I have never heard a complaint. I can't wait to fly with them again in the summer! Keep my skills fresh. There is always something to work on.

I started flying with Tammy due to scheduling issues with a previous instructor and I wish I would have flown with her sooner. Scheduling was a breeze, instruction was good and the experience was all around pleasant. If you want more than just an airport to airport Alaskan experience, fly with Tammy!
