UC Hospital has a wonderful NICU for babies. They have wonderful nurses and doctors working there, and for that part, I will give it 5 stars. But my own personal experience delivering my first child here in 1996 was traumatic.

The hospitality from this hospital was outstanding, everyone was kind and helpful. My room was great, very clean and well kept. The surgical staff was awesome, including my doctor, Dr. Guanciale! I'm going home sooner than expected and my pain was controlled well. I couldn't have had a better experience 😃!

The Emergency Room: undoubtedly this is the best trauma center in the region with amazing doctors and nurses. Some of the personnel may be gruff or rude and you may even have a negative experience with front desk personnel. I get it. There can be unmotivated individuals who have no training and don't care. We know it and so do the hiring managers but it's what they selected and we pay for. The real pleasure is getting to the next level where the experience changes - doctors and nurses who are, in my opinion, very good at what they do. I witnessed this 1st hand as they changed shifts and labored to service individuals even I found challenging. Kudos to them. If only consistency was across the board going up the ladder....

I was recently hospitalized here for five days I had two surgeries during the second one they skipped a procedure and tried to claim it was not scheduled even though I signed consent for it in pre-op when I come to in post op the pain in my biceps was unreal (I had reconstructive surgery on my leg) they placed IVs in both arms right at the bend of my arm and left them there for the entire stay severe damage to the muscle from continuous medicine being admin when I voiced my concerns they ignored me I asked to be transferred to another facility they refused I asked for a wheelchair to be able to move around get fresh air they said they couldn't find one that there were not any on my floor and there was only one walker for the entire floor so I couldn't leave my bed and when I insisted they let me out they kicked me out said I was given advice against it but they didn't all they did was round up my belongings and wheeled me to the street corner in a chair that couldn't be operated by the patient and I was naked but for a gown and left on the street corner in the cold at midnight and told good luck I would not recommend anyone go to this hospital for any reason there are far better hospitals just across state line in Kentucky

Had outpatient surgery on my left index finger. Hospital was short staffed due to inclement weather. Staff works hard and they work well together. Very professional and caring. Every step of the procedure has explained step by step. I felt that I was in good hands.

It's run by human beings, so we know it's not perfect, but what an effective system it is on the whole. Staff is always respectful, helpful, and friendly. They get me in quickly, and out feeling like someone actually cared about me.
I never really cared much about doctors, and did my best to stay out of their offices. I crushed 3 vertebrae when I was 20 and healed up on a guy's couch without professional care. Well now I'm old with a stage 4 tumor and 2 hips that are soon to be replaced, and I'm forced to put my trust in mortal man for a portion of my needs. Bottom line is, you can trust a review from someone who learned to respect all the hard work and dedication I see at UC Medical Center.
