I Lived in Safe Landing in Akron, Ohio for about a Month back in 1990, and I LOVED IT; The Different Variety of people there Were AWESOME; I had so much Fun there that, when it was time for me to Leave, I SERIOUSLY DIDN'T WANT TO GO BACK HOME!😊 I Wonder how much Safe Landing has changed since then🤔.....

Very traumatic experience.
My abusive mother would put me here when she “didn’t want to look at me” and they made me feel very small and uncomfortable. They would tease us about how the door was unlocked we could leave whenever.. but the cops will be looking for us, you’ll get a notebook as soon as they get you signed in and they will have you sit at a table with other random people for about 10 hours a day in complete silence while the “mentors/volunteers” sit on their phones or iPad, or scold you about how you could be doing better in life.
There were some nice activities that were fun, going to a farm to see horses, watching movies, I heard they played bored games and card games but I never did, and the food was absolutely amazing the chef was a wonderful lady (she is the reason for the 2nd star).
Definitely wouldn’t call this place a Shelter, maybe a Homey detention center.

My name is Crystal Powell and I have contacted safe landing regarding my son and they have refused to help. I strongly do not recommend the place. In my opinion I feel they want my son to fail! I came for help and was turned away! I am very disappointed and lost respect for this facility! After they just had them and once he left they closed doors on him.
