I never knew what I was getting into when going to camp joy on a field trip. Worst most traumatizing experience of my life. I was a bigger child growing up and I'm also Latina so I'm pretty sure the comments yelled at me by the staff weren't pretend. My group and I were called racial slurs, told no one loves us, and we were forced to crawl around in mud on all 4s under a house while oinking and saying "I'm a filthy pig" over and over again. They just teach racism here.

Ill never forget when they dragged me here in 5-6th Grade as an African American and made cosplay as a slave. Me and other fellow African American students were asked to do the same. To make matters worse they made us think we escaped only to be caught and called darkies. What an experience. #CampJoySurvivor

The worst place I’ve ever been dragged to. Every school trip we do the same thing, the councilors r overly happy (gimme what you got) this isn’t camp joy, it’s more like camp depression.

Excellent venue for a retreat. I was really worried the cabins were going to be exceptionally cool being in the middle of January but they were very warm.

Great place to spend a few days with your kids at camp. We went for a 6th grade trip for school and had a blast.

Love it! We were 1st timers this year.. Kids had a great time and it's a great opportunity for caregiver respite, if you will. Thank you to everyone who makes this happen!

I went here when I was in 6th grade. The counselors were nice and made sure we were okay after the Trail of Tears reenactment. But the Trail of Tears reenactment was really scary, I remember being really scared and wanting it to get out when they made everyone crowd in the area under the floor boards. Also basically pointing prop guns at people, I’m just glad that we were able to signal if we wanted to stop participating and they would let us. I’m also glad that the counselor that I was with after the reenactment was really nice and made sure everyone was okay. And we got to feed the goats that were there.
