Our 6 year old has been working with Terrie for a year. Terrie has been wonderful with our son in instilling habit of reading with hands on approach connecting with at him at his level with a deep understanding of reading interventions and strategies tailored to individual needs.

The sessions are broken down into structural elements (reading, listening, paying attention, responding) that allows the child adapt with a free flow incorporating interactive game based models to engage a 6 year old.

As parents we are we are able to stay involved taking Terrie’s insights about his learning style and strengths that we can continue to work on at home.

Our son is very comfortable reading now, has a wonderful bond with Terrie and looks forward to his reading sessions

Both of my daughters worked with Banner Literacy over the years in grade school and middle school. Terri is a season professional literacy teacher who's attention to nuance and detail (of the material and of the student) is unparalleled in my experience. She invests deeply in each student and their progress and self-esteem and will advocate fiercely for them in the school system, if needed. We worked with Tim for writing, and he is also focused, professional, and effective. I can't recommend Banner Literacy highly enough.

My younger daughter really struggled to learn to read, and we tried a lot of strategies before finally finding Banner when she was in the 3rd grade. Dr. Briggs was incredible to work with – caring, engaging, and professional. She zoned in on the skills my daughter needed to build on and helped her with confidence as well, which was half the battle. After working with Dr. Briggs for a few months, everything started to click, and she was able to read with ease and confidence. The transformation was unbelievable – and I attribute my daughter being able to pick up a book, understand and enjoy it to the wonderful teacher she had. I could not recommend Banner enough.

Banner Literacy has provided reading and academic tutoring for my daughter with a reading and writing disability for the past 7 years. The progress I have witnessed has surpassed all of my expectations. Not only have my daughter's reading/writing skills and self esteem greatly improved, she is having fun in the process. Terrie Briggs has come through to assist and motivate her in other academic areas, as well, helping my daughter overcome extreme anxiety over homework assignments and helping her feel successful. Dr. Briggs is a skilled collaborator in school settings always thinking up creative solutions to advocate for my daughter's specific needs in the school setting. Finally, I can't thank Dr. Briggs enough for being there for us during this unprecedented remote learning times. Thanks to her patience, creativity and contagious positive attitude, we managed to take on the daunting task of e-learning with great success.
