Visiting the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center was an incredibly powerful and moving experience. From the moment I walked in, I was met with an atmosphere of reverence, resilience, and hope. The exhibits are beautifully curated, blending history with storytelling in a way that truly honors the strength and courage of those who fought for freedom.

The Slave Pen exhibit was especially profound, standing as a stark reminder of the past while emphasizing the importance of never forgetting. The interactive displays and personal narratives brought history to life, making the experience both educational and deeply emotional.

What I appreciated most was how the center not only reflects on the past but also connects it to present-day struggles for freedom and justice. It serves as a call to action, encouraging visitors to continue the fight for equality in all forms.

I highly recommend this museum to anyone looking to expand their understanding of American history and the ongoing journey toward freedom. It is a must-visit for all generations—a place of learning, reflection, and inspiration.

Lots of exhibits to learn from. So much to discuss if you want to walk slowly through these with a friend. There is a lot of info and it would be nice if you had at least 3 hours to take your time with. It’s good to know this history of brave people on both sides… those who fled their owners and those who helped those who fled their owners. Thank goodness for human resilience and kindness of humanity who helped people escape slave owners.

What a fun, educational venue. There were movies, real-life artifacts, lounging areas, and a gift 🎁 shop. The reception area is filled with delightful ladies, making sure we get the best deal for entry cost by offering memberships when our party size would have cost double if paid individually.

I actually stumbled upon the museum during a layover in Cincinnati. I love taking pictures of ball parks, and on my way to the Reds stadium I see some volunteers making sidewalk art for the museum. I walk up and what do you know, admission is free on Sundays.
It’s without doubt the most concentration of exhibits I’ve seen throughout an ENTIRE museum. Most museums have two, maybe three expansive exhibits that captivate your imagination, but this museum is filled with them. I’ll let the pictures tell the tale, and I won’t post all of them. Far too many

Visiting the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center with my family of four was an unforgettable experience. Although some areas were under construction and everything was concentrated on the 3rd floor, the museum was still incredible. We spent two hours observing, learning, and exploring, yet barely scratched the surface of all it has to offer.

The exhibits were chock-full of rich Black history, providing an emotional, engaging, and enlightening experience. From powerful artifacts to stories of resilience and freedom, every moment resonated deeply. It’s a place that leaves you reflecting and wanting to return to uncover even more. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to connect with and understand this critical part of history.

The Freedom Center is a great venue to showcase Candlelight! All seats are great. Love the addition of the drums to the string quartet.
The drum kit is definitely necessary to merging Classical and Hip Hop! Loved the audience participation in the final numbers!!
