This is not a drop in facility. The center is part of 211 United Way community resources for low income residents in Contra Costa. They are also part of the 988 lifeline crisis and suicide prevention network for emotional support. Both are available 24/7. No in person services other than grief support groups are available at the center.

These people focus on a specific demographic. What services they offer remain unclear. "Counselors" focus on collecting information that can be used to target people in need who contact them. I recommend avoiding these people.

Local residents need to know what sort of amazing resources they have at their fingertips. I have had a great experience here so far and I'm really excited that Contra Costa has this Center and that it's free. I don't actually remember who told me about CC Crisis Center, but I called them shortly after I lost my sister in an unexpectedly tragic accident. It took a few weeks to be placed with a one-on-one counselor, but I was prepared for that. They matched me with someone I now feel very comfortable being alone with. And that is why it takes a little time. CC Crisis Center can provide one-on-one, or group counseling, or both.

Honestly, I don't know if their services span beyond grief counseling. But for my loss, grief counseling was what I needed, and I really struck out using the resources offered by my HealthNet insurance plan. I feel so fortunate to have found this place and been assigned a counselor who I believe will really help me heal.

One on one counseling might not be for everyone, or might not be useful for every personal situation, but for me, for right now, it's really been a huge life-saver. I'm a positive person who needs help learning how to grieve in a healthy way, and CC Crisis Center has made this possible. I'm still new to the process of speaking to a stranger about very personal moments and feelings, but I truly believe this will help me get through my loss in the most healthy way possible.

I am currently in training to be a 211 call receiver. I was really amazed at how many resources the Crisis center has for those in need. The Covid pandemic has close many resources, but there are over 1600 resources available for those in need. Training is all about addressing caller need. Great resource!

They can save your life when you need help the most. They can give assistance for veterans, homeless or those in need too, I go for grieving and loss groups. They have people on the phone 24/7 even if you want to talk...
