My son has been waiting for a big for 7 years … Today was his follow up appointment. My son was explaining his disappointment and that he felt like he didn’t want to continue with the program if he is going to be waiting years more. Instead of talking things through the person I had the appointment with said immediately that we can’t continue with the program without letting my son explain himself. Mind you my son is autistic and has other issues. Now he is crying not understanding what happened. These workers need to learn how to work with the special needs community. I definitely do not recommend this program if this is the way they treat clients.

The organization has a cool concept and has change some kids' lives.

As a volunteer, there were some cons
- when applying, they ask for references and then called the references up and tried to get them to sign in up. My references have no intention to sign up for this program, so it was a bit embarrassing for them to try and get them to sign up.
-the coordinator asked what she range I wanted omy little to be, so I specified. They said they found a perfect match and it was outside the range i wanted. I was really disappointed, but optomsitic. In the end, I was unsatisfied how they didn't even consider that preferences that I was the most comfortable with. I even mentioned it, but went with the flow.
-the coordinator change in the middle of the year and I disliked this person a lot. She didn't make the monthly meeting worth going to or wanted to make me continue the program after it ended. Same goes for my little.
-i felt like paying for your own background check while you don't get compensated for your time, driving long distance to see your little (I drove 40 minutes for my match one way), and paint for activities for a year is unfair. And when it ends, you have to pay again for another background check to continue annually.

Pros
- it is fun having a Little. Just really specific and reject if they pressure you or convince you trying to get a little bit in your radius of location or the age range you desire for the most comfortable with.

Bummed that this was not a good fit for my kids. I mentioned that we might have to move at some point in the not so near future, which is true, rent here is excruciating, and they decided that it was not a good idea to have my kids in the program, just in case we moved, even though I have several surgeries that are needed which will keep me here for a while! They have been in the program and one of my boys big brother went MIA, no call backs, no texts, no warning, just stopped. My others Big had to move 6months into the program. Yet, I may move sometime and they were not OK with that. My kids were let down again.

I got a big brother about 3 years ago and it was good till the day he disappeared on me he left without saying anything then they wouldn't apologize for what happened they wouldn't give me another one this ruined my trust issues and my thoughts on society
