I don’t leave reviews very often. But my experience with this program has been very frustrating. My initial impression was great, I was met by kind people and felt accommodated. It was easy to sign up and register. As time went on, I missed two dates because I ended up being sick with COVID. After countless attempts of contacting Cecilia, one of the program coordinators, I ended up needing to pay DOUBLE to make up my dates, because she didn’t get back to me until about a week after when my COVID test was already negative and she wanted me to take a supplemental test to excuse my absence. I had peers who had taken pre planned vacations with no makeup cost penalty, and I had to pay double for having COVID and because of the programs failure to get back to me. I finally picked up my certificates and 283b form after my program completion date on August 21, 2024. I wasn’t able to take my exam with the rest of my class, because I had school and couldn’t skip my classes. I’ve been trying to schedule it for months now. On my 283b form, my program number isn’t written legibly and it has prevented me from signing up to take the exam. When I reached out to Cecilia to ask what the program number was so I can sign myself up, and explained that it wasn’t clearly written in my form, she told me that all the information I need is on my form, I clarified again that I see it and it isn’t legibly written and I need the program code, her only response to me was ā€œokā€. I still haven’t been able to register for my exam. The lack of communication and professionalism is overwhelming. I loved working with Amber, the LVN who helped us throughout our clinicals. But my experience with everything else has been utterly disappointing. You get what you pay for. Yes, it’s affordable, but I would highly recommend seeking out a better program, even if it the cost is a little higher.

I enrolled in the CNA class and also the CHHA class. First of all the CNA class was very fast and informative. I had Ms.Amber for theory "Loved Her" she was very helpful and very hands-on with all skills she answered any question you asked her she's the greatest. The office staff sucks, The older Hispanic woman at the desk has a terrible attitude she's always frowned up and she doesn't know anything at least that's what she says she always say i have to ask somebody else about that if you don't know anything why are you working at the front desk. I hate that those schedule you for an appointment and then when you go the office is locked no one's there they don't answer the phones and they never even reach out to let you know that they're going to be stepping out earlier which would be the right thing to do especially if they know they had scheduled an appointment with someone. Just so unprofessional. And then the owner of the business Miss tuba it seems like she's just jealous of all employees there she always tell you that the way they're teaching you is not right, her way is the right way My thing if you hire instructors to teach your classes don't go behind their back and tell the class that they're not teaching us right that make you look bad and very jealous. The YouTube videos that the school put on line or old and outdated if you're going to post something online and say that it's a training video please know what you're doing in the video sorry but your videos are very outdated You should not get mad if someone's trying to tell you the right way cuz everything you say it's not the right way just because you say so if you hire people to teach let them teach and don't go behind their back underminingwhat they're doing. Start answering your phones at the school stop schedule an appointments and you're not there be more professional

I rarely write reviews, let alone negative ones, but my experience with this business was so frustrating that I feel compelled to warn others.

I signed up for a weekend class at their Miramar location, paid my $100 deposit, and expected someone to reach out within 24 hours, as stated on their website (see picture attached). When I heard nothing for 2 weeks, I called, only to find out that no weekend classes were even being held at that location. Instead, they offered me a spot at a different location in Eastlake or El Cajon. I live in North County, so I declined.

I requested a refund, but my calls and voicemail to the person I was sent to call, went unanswered. The next day I called back the first number, our conversation became heated after I suggested they update their website to avoid misleading future students. Instead of addressing the issue, I was rudely told not to tell her « how to run her business ».
She then claimed she had just changed the response time for deposits to 48 hours, yet by that point, she failed to understand that I asked my refund yesterday, but it had already been two weeks since I paid my deposit.

To add insult to injury, I was told I had to drive all the way to Eastlake to get my refund in person for a credit card payment through PayPal, seriously?!
And to top it off, after telling me that, she might have blocked my number, my last message telling her I’m refusing to drive, never went through.

The second lady finally sent my refund, saying she never received calls from me, and with a bogus note saying, ā€œRefund due to paperwork not being completed in our office for reservation.ā€ This was a blatant attempt to shift the blame onto me. Their website clearly states that paying the deposit secures your spot and that someone will reach out within 24 hours, again (find picture attached). The real note should have read, ā€œWe failed to inform you that the class wasn’t actually availableĀ Ā».

I had to select a specific class, at a specific location, and confirm it was a weekend class before even making the deposit, so this was not my mistake.
I have saved everything, every time stamps on calls, including our text exchanges, would they try to call me a liar.

It’s obvious that the representative couldn’t answer a straight question or even text properly. Just take a look at their website, it’s full of typos, which says a lot about their professionalism. It’d be really hard to find a business with worse communication skills.

If classes are ā€œsubject to change,ā€ as they claim, the bare minimum they could do is inform students. Had I not called, I never would have even known. As I write this, the Miramar weekend schedule is still up.

Save yourself the headache and avoid this business.

San Diego Medical College was highly recommend to me by my aunt who completed the CNA program. She absolutely loved it and I am now taking classes here as well. This is the school for you if you are passionate about the work you do and are willing to put in the effort. The staff is very supportive and gives you the tools you need to succeed. I highly recommend this school as it has prepared me very well and has helped me reach my goals.

Don’t listen to these poor reviews. They are misleading… Great course and the team was very helpful. I was able to make my payments with no problem and received my CNA and HHA license in a timely manner, jump starting a new pathway in my career! I had to fill out documents and sign paperwork which you should read thoroughly. I took my CNA course at San Diego Medical College over the pandemic and just had to come back for my HHA at the Miramar location recently. For the price and experience, after looking around other places and classes, I 10/10 recommend. The instructors did a great job of teaching us the material and ensured preparation for the State Exam. I was a little nervous but passed with ease!! DO NOT SKIP CLASSES since you will miss vital information and have to make it up, although that’s at your own expense and doing. Don’t try to cheat these courses, otherwise you are simply cheating on yourself. Ms. Tuba is sincerely a wonderful a person. 10/10 recommend three times over!!

Overall it was disappointing. The school is just unorganized, they gave information at the last minute, and instructors were always late to class and clinical. We even had one day of clinical canceled last minute because our instructor had to run and go teach at another campus. So we lost those hours. It was also very hard getting in contact with them for anything they have one secretary running all of the campuses bless her heart, she was great but extremely overworked. The campuses could also use some work we were sitting at plastic tables and the equipment they used to teach was old. The tuition was cheaper than other places so I guess I got what I paid for. I'm not saying don't go here but definitely explore other options first.
