Bruce is a very professional, reliable and attentive instructor. The experience of flying with him is amazing. He taught me the basics of piloting in an understandable way and then gave me the opportunity to fly by myself with his sensitive control. Thank you Bruce for making my dream of flying high in the sky like a bird come true! ✌️✈️

I fly in this airspace all the time I have witnessed incredibly Reckless dangerous and arrogant flying from airplanes owned and operated by Bruce. Several other pilots and atc are corroborate a pattern of arrogant behavior, there is no excuse for doing VFR maneuvers in the middle of the localizer into Gillespie and the hold at rayah when there are dozens of other aircraft trying to fly in the area with ATC as well as Tower and people on practice frequency trying to contact you absolutely Reckless completely unacceptable

Bruce sets the gold standard for flight instruction. His patience and attention to detail are unparalleled, making even a first-time flyer feel like a born aviator. Bruce goes beyond the routine, ensuring each lesson is thorough, never rushed, and always enlightening. His ability to clarify the complexities of flying, coupled with his eagerness to share the thrill of aviation with my family, showcased his exceptional teaching spirit.

In the cockpit, Bruce’s calm demeanor and expertise shine, guaranteeing comfort and confidence in the skies. He possesses a rare talent for guiding novice hands to skillfully control an aircraft, a testament to his over 10,000 hours of dual flight instruction. Bruce is not just an instructor; he’s an ambassador of the skies, embodying the generous, pioneering spirit that aviation is all about. For anyone looking to soar, Bruce is the instructor you want at your yoke.

Bruce is a fantastic instructor: I took an introductory Cessna flight lesson and it was very safe and fun ride. Bruce ensured that I understood the basic principles and the controls of flight. He was able to give precise instructions without making it overwhelming and I did learn a lot in just two hours of introductory session.

Bruce is definitely a phenomenal instructor. I am doing my private pilot certificate with him and could not ask for a better instructor. He puts safety at the highest priority and around that he has developed a systematic, consistent, and efficient training program as an independent instructor, through his decades of experience as a flight instructor (he has given more than 10000 hours of dual instructions). He is patient and cares about helping to keep your total cost down (his hourly rate is somehow lower compared to the market given his experience and charges a lower rate for the ground part of the lesson than in the aircraft). The methodologies and techniques he teaches will be carried along after you get your certificate and are not just targeted for passing the checkride (although his students usually did very well in checkrides). If you are looking for an instructor or an introductory flight I am sure you want to talk with him.

I am curerntly working on the private pilot certificate (PPC / PPL) with Bruce Elig at Let's Fly San Diego, and I would say the flight training experience with Bruce is engaging and valuable. From our very first flying lesson, intro flight, Bruce taught me plenty of flying knowledge such as the basic flying principle and controlling the aircraft. This is definitely the intro/evaluation flight of great value. Throughout the flight training, I am impressed with the well-organized and systematic flying lessons designed and provided by Bruce. Most important of all, Bruce is consistent with his teaching philosophy - making flying safe and fun simultaneously.

I think it is fair of me to say flying with Bruce is super high quality and affordable. Due to personal reason, I get the chance to experience flight training in San Diego and Seattle, flight schools and flying clubs (7 interviews). Flight schools offer fancy aircrafts and so-so flying lessons but ask for high aircraft rental and instruction fees (50%+ more expensive). Moreover, most flight instructors at flight school build their hours to get into airlines instead of devoting themselves to flight training. Flying clubs on the other hand offer affordable aircrafts and often better CFIs in the club.
Bruce has provided over 11,000 hours dual flight training and shows strong passion for educating students about being a safe and competent pilot.
If you're looking for the place to learn decent knowledge and become a safe and competent pilot, I encourage you to fly with Bruce Elig.
