I did my aviation training here and unfortunately was consistently let down by the practices of the school, and the way they conducted themselves. Most of my instructors were great and knowledgeable, really had your best interest at heart but then some were very rude, and made the experience flying miserable. During my time at this school, the Commercial Pilot course was paused at some point due to failures of the school and sending students unprepared into checkrides, so we all had to suffer as a result and lost a few months of training time, and at that same time were being CHARGED FOR BEING THERE. The school promised that we would not be charged for this time at the end of our training here only to say it wasn't their fault and that we owed them ALOT of money for that time.
The school does not care about its students and has really poor practices, and once you graduate they will hit you with a bunch of additional fee's. In it's current state I cannot recommend anyone attend this flight school, you , and your wallet are better off going somewhere else to a part 61 school and getting your certifications there.

They promised so much, and consistently let me down. As a former cadet, I urge you (and your bank account) to stay as far away as you can from CAE. Do not be fooled by their ability to sell you a joke. They do not care about your success, progression, or health. They only care about money. They made several thousands of dollars worth of incorrect charges during my time. They lack so many organizational skills to run a business it’s ridiculous. They do NOT abide by their own contracts!! (They do, however, charge you a 25% ‘training service fee’ to be a student there.) They promise to fly you a certain amount of times a week, which is also a joke. My entire experience has been horrible. From student housing issues, to getting my instructor switched 8 times, to flying about once a week, they have wasted so much of my time and money. This is a pilot mill. You are just a number. They don’t care if they are slowing your career by holding you back due to their lack of knowing how to properly run a flight school. They have one priority, and it is to make money. You deserve so much better, look elsewhere.

CAE, where do I even begin. Taylor's review (should be below mine if you filter by newest) is spot on. As a matter of a fact, I went to CAE at the same time as Taylor. I was at CAE for well over a year (joined Jan 2022 and left March 2023) and all I had to show for my time there, was my PPC (which I failed twice partially because I let CAE pressure me into the checkride I did not feel prepared for and they did not adequately prepare me for). As a student at CAE, you are only a number to them. You are what pays their bills and that's it. There is no support system, besides the friends you make while there. Most (not all) of the instructors there, should not be instructing students. They are overworked, underpaid, and dislike CAE as much as many of the students there and that does not create a good training environment for any student. On many times, I felt I was discriminated against also as a Hispanic, moreso while I was trying to leave CAE which enabled me more to leave that toxic environment. And beware, they DO NOT state it in their TSA but if you leave their program early, they will charge you a "Training Service Fee". How that is legal, I'm not sure but they do it. Save yourself the headache and find another school or train at a part 61 school nearest to you.

Thanks to CAE Phoenix I have been left with a very sour taste for aviation. I avoided enrolling in a school like ATP due to the fame of no ground school they have because I wanted a well guided training experience. All CAE provided me with was an ipad with apps and instructors who dont care wether u fail or succeed. For a school that advertises to train you from 0 experience, they sure dont help you at all. I was constantly disrespected by instructors and most of all by the so call “flight lead” whom is supposed to “help” you in any way possible. All this school cares about is money. They wont even allow you to use simulators because they cost millions of dollars. I would rate this school 0 stars but its not possible. Please educate yourself about how flight schools work and how they can screw you before choosing a school to give your money to. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE. Not even my worst enemy.

My experience with CAE and Southwest Airlines Destination 225 program has been terrible. I would not recommend this school or program to anybody. Daniel Riskey of Southwest Airlines and Kyle Bertis of CAE think modifying contract terms AFTER signing contracts is acceptable.

Their noisy low flying aircraft unrelenting lower quality of life around falcon field and lower private property values. They are not responsive to noise complaints.

Test takers beware, the building is locked to all who are not currently enrolled in their program. And none of this is posted anywhere. The supposed call button has no one on the other end but a voicemail.

Always check every flight school you visit. Many CFI only care about collecting hours. Few of them really cares about students.
