Quarry Road Trail makes for a lovely hike for anyone looking for something to do on a weekend. The trail is super easy with an elevation gain of just over 270 feet or so. It’s in and out and doesn’t loop. Dog friendly. Bike friendly. The trail goes for about 5 or 6 miles in but we stop at about 2.7 miles or so (where the water fall is). There are a couple of flat areas with tables and benches that would make for a great picnic. There are restrooms along the way so that’s super convenient. There’s a closed off mine entrance that’s neat to see. Definitely recommend checking this trail out. You won’t be disappointed. Parking however is challenging. There are just a few spot at the entrance and fills up very quickly. Many resort to parking alongside the road.

Trail was great! Just be warned that park service employees like to block off the parking lot so they can write you a ticket if you park on the extremely wide shoulder next to the trail where most everyone parks. It’s not a cheap citation either at $75. I personally wrote an appeal but was denied, they never sent anything telling me that my appeal was denied I had to be on hold on the phone for half an hour to find out a couple weeks after I sent in my appeal. Very disappointed in CA parks!

After erroneous directions from Google Maps, I found parking along Old Foresthill Rd. It's self-service $10 for the day. Clementine Trail takes you along the North Fork of the American River. The hike starts out pretty flat then gets steeper with some drops then back up to Lake Clementine, 4.4 mi out and back.
Go early in the morning during summer to get back before it gets too hot. There's nice scenery, and good access to the river near the parking area.

Quarry Road itself is a wide, flat, sunny trail following a neck of the American River and leading to some extravagant climbing areas.
There are additional offshoots to the sides that are narrow, shaded, and steep for more experienced hikers and climbers. Great Yosemite like walls of rock everywhere you go.

It's a great place to get a few miles in. The first couple of miles are easy, on a dirt road. We started into the second part which is a smaller trail that feels more secluded. The only down side is that the trail is high up from the water and a steep walk to get to it. But we managed.

Amazing wheelchair accessible packed dirt road along American River, decent parking lot, again gravel. But a concrete sidewalk to a designated wheelchair accessible trail. Beautiful walk and scenic views.

The trail is along the water so that was a nice view. I went on a more hot day so that made it a little less enjoyable considering there is not much shade. When you reach the mining area where the benches are at there is a sign that shows a list of trails however as you keep hiking, they do not add signs when the trail splits off so you do not know what trail you will be on. Once I reached the cave, I turned around and headed back. Unfortunately, the cave is closed off which was a bummer. It would have been really cool to go inside. It would have been a full 5 stars if the trail was better marked. I am not sure if I would go back.

This was one of the best hikes I've done in the area! Plenty of interconnecting trails to explore. A little crowded parking lot on the weekend if you don't show up early, but the trails aren't crowded at all. Was able to walk 16 miles the last time I went and even with a puppy and a group of people, the hike was pleasant and not too challenging. Just a nice way to get outside and see the river and quarry and waterfalls.
