Nice location overlooking golf course. Took 20 minutes post water to get service. Watching people be seated and served ahead of you was frustrating, only increased by the servers not responding to any attempt to attract their attention. This was with 4 tables outside.
After 20 minutes we went inside to find someone and the rationale by German was “we were confused who was meant to be serving you”.
We still managed to order drinks, though will be going to Elvira for lunch instead, see that review for restaurant in Tubac 5 minutes away from here.

Stables is located within the Tubac resort. Fun place to stop in during the Christmas season. Nicely decorated resort and festive environment. Somewhat overpriced. Be prepared to pay $15 for a simple cocktail. Service was friendly, if not the quickest. But then again we went Christmas Eve.

Great place for dinner following our afternoon on the golf course. Server (Martha?) did a great job staying on top of everything we needed. Food was great. Will definitely return.

I’ve been coming to Stables for over 20 years. Love the atmosphere. What stands out is the Caesar salad with anchovies. Best I’ve ever had

Love the patio. But the service is lacking, possibly due to understaffing. It took forever to take our entree order. Until then, the service was good. We encountered the same problem at lunch. We had the same lunch entree twice. The first time it was good; the second time, not so much. Prices are high but I expect that at a golf course/resort. The food is good but unremarkable. The price of the strip steak was excessive IMO. If they could take the cuisine and menu and, in particular, the service up a notch, we’d have a winner. As it is, we’ll be back but not often unless things improve.

I view feedback as a gift - the MOTHER'S DAY BUFFET WAS OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE AT OVER $500 FOR SIX OF US - AND ONE OF US COULD EAT BARELY MORE THAN SALAD. They AUTOMATICALLY ADDED A TAXED 20% GRATUITY FOR ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE. The food was less than fulfilling with TOUGH PRIME RIB, COLD QUICHE, COLD POTATOES, NO HALIBUT IN THE TRAY AND NO DRINKS INCLUDED WITH THE MEAL. When I called to make the reservation I was not advised that it would be buffet only with no menu service, nor of the automatic cost per person. There was no mention of it on their website either because I'd looked before calling. Although we'd enjoyed the service and the menu on a prior visit, we would have chosen another venue if we'd have known because we do not favor buffets. THIS EXPERIENCE WILL SEE US FIND ANOTHER OPTION FOR OUR SPECIAL GATHERINGS IN THE FUTURE. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW DISAPPOINTED WE ARE.
