Had an atv accident. Went to marion va. Got in wi 10 minutes. RN Brandi put me in the bad boy room. Got me into xray and ct in a very short while. Dr Blackstone Tucker looked me over. With a name like that he should be a honky tonk country music singer BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I got cleared to go he. Had a few laughs! My experience was exceptionally great!!! Thanks to Xray, CT, doc, beautiful Brandi, and tje other pretty nurse.

The VAMC in Marion, IL is amazing. I spent a couple of years at Naval Medical Venter San Diego during a medical retirement board. I thought NMC San Diego was efficient and awesome. Given the lack of funding to the VA in general and all the bad press at the time I wasn’t looking forward to transitioning to the VA medical system. Boy was I wrong! If they can’t see yo in a reasonable amount of time they are happy to send you out to a provider near your home vis a vis the veterans choice act. I have had numerous procedures at VAMC Marion and every time I was treated wonderfully. The entire staff is amazing and thoughtful and helpful. I can’t say enough good things about this VAMC. The campus is nice and compact. And the executive staff understands that they win when patients are healed and sent back out into the world as opposed to civilian medicine which seems to be incentivized to have you back often and heal you in their own sweet time. This VAMC is easy to find no matter what direction you approach from.

If your a Vet near Marion, IL, then you should definitely should be getting your health Care here.

Every time I go here it is a great experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I went to my appointment early and they got me in early.

My boyfriend went here, as recommended. My advice (as someone battling a rare long term cancer), do NOT waste your time, gas or energy going here. Their staff is unqualified. My boyfriend is having issues with his lower back and sides, and he has been drinking nothing but water the past two days. They did the BARE MINIMUM. A urine test and blood work. Which is not good enough care! They could not give any answers, refused to even give him IV fluids, refused to give a CT scan when asked. They did absolutely NOTHING!!! If something is seriously wrong (which could be the case, as my man does not complain about issues like this… ever. He sucks it up and goes on about his day). Never again will I allow the bare minimum towards someone I love. What a waste of time, money in gas and energy! He is still in pain! They just Told him to go home and drink water, couldn’t give a diagnosis, because they refused to find the issue and resolve it!! Of course they couldn’t, as bloodwork and a urine test won’t show if there is something severely wrong. Save yourself, and just go to a normal ER. At least they will provide you with ACTUAL care. This facility and all of their staff should be fired and shut down for how they treat people who have served for this country, and how UNINTELLIGENT and LAZY they are!!! Refusing to figure out and solve the issue is RIDICULOUS!!! What a joke this place and their staff is!!!

I used to go to Nashville VA because I live in Tennessee but not only is it closer but it a whole lot faster than the one in Nashville I love Marion VA in Marion Illinois

Every other VA I have visited has been absolutely abysmal, just Kafkaesque, eg Ashville VA departments cannot even call each other for technical reasons WTAF?

The Marion VA however is run so well it should be used as a model for every other VA hospital in the country.

My husband Tim is a Navy veteran, has had cataract surgery on both eyes and has had the most exceptional nurse Tosha each time. Just want to give a shout out to her she was the most informative, caring, attentive, funny and best nurse we have encountered there. Everyone has been great. You are in good hands when you go to the VA in Marion.
