My o my... it's sad how African customer care transferred to the USA. I had the worst experience here, and I am given 3 stars because the owner, who is an elderly lady, is so sweet and friendly.
But the 2 guys at the front cash register when I went need to be at the back.
Arguing with a customer and telling them that you are older than them all because they asked for good service.

Not personable at all. Also, speaking in your language when upset so that the customer can not hear is rude. If you are not ready to smile and welcome customers, do not be on the register. Work at the back and do not chase the sweet ladies' customers away.

Aside from the bad experience, the shop has a lot of African food that you need and I'll encourage you to visit. If you get treated badly by any worker, just ask for the owner. Hopefully, they will be provided with some customer training.

Went to the store to grab some items , because my husband like there produce . I walked in with my husband, there wasn’t any hand cart for shopping so I asked the owner , Do you guys have any hand cart because I don’t see any inside “he answer in a very disrespectful and rude manner . No! you didn’t see the cart outside why didn’t you picked it up in his African tone of voice very impolite . So I said no . Then this lady came hugging my husband telling me he had relationship with him , speaking to the owner in their language “twi “ can u image walking in a grocery store and a lady hugging and patting my husband pocket and starring in my face , My husband looked at me like “What is going on “ in this store. UP to this moment I remembered her, she drove an army green Toyato Camry. She even told me to take care of my man , are else she will take him away from me, I was astonished, I couldn’t say anything because it was all Africans and I wasn’t sure if they were gonna retaliate , I was so shocked and scared , me and my husband was the only person that wasn’t African , . People do not buy anything at that store Are even bring your husband with you, I can’t believe that people are so bold , and it’s a grocery store in East Hartford, I guess. I’m not sure if it’s a grocery store or a club . I will never go back there. That’s harassment and the owner kept looking at the woman and didn’t even say , stop. I didn’t even finished buying the grocery I just went out with a few items. I cannot give this place a zero , and it doesn’t deserve a 1 star. The smell in that store is horrible, there was a cat 🐈‍⬛ on top of the foods ,

Rude customer services especially from that rude skinny black girl at the front (looks like she doesn’t get much satisfaction from home)save your money and shop elsewhere, most times their products are expired so be careful-there’s an African store down the street a little small but their products are fresh and good customer services…I don’t care about prices but if your business is selling customer’s products at least have a good working employees with good customer services that’s the key to businesses!!
Just overall bad customer service and expired products and food…so be warned when buying from this rude establishment

I called in to get the price of a pound of Shea butter the man told me he has it, but said he couldn't give me the price over the phone. I asked why and he rudely hang up on me. I have a local business and would use them as a supplier, but now I will just buy from Amazon. Man, you guys really must learn the art of customer service in order to thrive.

They sell most of Ghanaian or African products. Good place but prices are a bit higher. I don't really complain because I go there only to buy something that can't be found in American stores. You will buy if you desperately need it.
