I’ve been in Alisa’s belly dance class for almost a year now, and I absolutely love it! Alisa is such a fantastic teacher and person. She is extremely passionate about dance and I think through her passion and positivity she spreads that passion and joy of dance on to me and her other students. Dancing in Alisa’s class has brought so much positivity to my life and it's something I look forward to doing every week!

Alisa is very knowledgeable about belly dance and is able to demonstrate and explain the movements where it’s easy to understand. She is very patient and will take the time to make sure everyone is grasping a move and concept. If you are not grasping something, she takes the time to walk you through the movement or explain it in a different way. I feel like she has created such a loving and positive culture in her classes, where everyone is there to enjoy dance, have fun, support each other, and of course improve along the way! I would highly highly recommend her and her classes!!

I joined the beginners belly dance class with Alisa Greer in April 2022. Having given birth to a baby boy not too long before that, Alisa had a very understanding and gentle approach for training me. She would remind me about & suggest modifications during warm up/dance/stretch out portions of the class to make it easier on me. She is super patient with students new to dancing/belly dancing and encourages questions & clarifications through out the class. As part of the (now) intermediate+ batch, she encourages us to learn more than just the techniques. She even makes time for extra (free) classes to discuss the history of the Egyptian style of dance, the golden era, music and present and past perceptions about belly dancing. Alisa deeply cares about ensuring that each dancer is progressing in their joureny. The time that she invests in thinking about where we are at and suggesting modifications to challenge us during class is admirable! Other than weekly classes where we learn techniques, musicality, zills, veil & improv dancing, Alisa helps with choreographing, offers costume suggestions, works with vendors to procure them and with us to put up two excellent performances per year. I hear there is a hafla in the near future too! I highly recommend Alisa as an able teacher & guide for your belly dance journey!

Alisa is a wonderful belly dancing teacher. I have been taking her classes for a few years. I really enjoy her class and am always looking forward to the next class. I am so happy she is teaching online classes during this pandemic time so I can continue learning belly dancing with her.

I loved taking beginning belly dancing with Alisa! She's the best teacher. Very sweet and helpful. Unfortunately, the pandemic occurred a few months into learning so classes were cancelled. I believe you can take them online now with her. I highly recommend taking her classes online or hopefully in person in the future.

Belly dancing was always on my bucket list but a few years into my 30's I thought it was finally time to give it a shot. I felt a bit uneasy as a straight male dipping my toes (and belly) in this art form but from the first class I had with Alisa, I knew I couldn't have been in a more encouraging and safe space to practice. Alisa truly knows how to strike the balance of making you feel secure and comfortable (doing uncomfortable things), and also pushing you when you can take on a new challenge. What makes this all extra magical for me is how she even takes time in the classroom to pepper in some facts about the music, culture, and history behind the art, which brings an entirely new dimension to the experience, and it truly is an EXPERIENCE! Oh and did I mention you practically get a beguiling front-row view of a top-tier live belly dancing performance every class?!
