This company fraudulently claims to work for health insurance companies, in my case for Aetna Meritain. In fact, they are owned by CVS and contract with health insurance companies to cut costs under the auspices of being "patient care coordinator." They claim to be on the side of patients, but all they do is attempt to get your written consent to be your "case manager" - which gives them the authority to override your doctors and deny your treatments. When I declined their offer to be my case manager, they illegally contacted my doctor and fraudulently claimed to work for Aetna Meritain to gain access to my medical records. I had to threaten them with legal action to get them to cease and desist. They are an unethical company.

This is a terrible and unethical business. They review and deny treatments to patients. I am a neurologist. I have a patient with multiple sclerosis, who I prescribed a medication that will decrease her future disabilities. This medication was of course denied. I was on the phone for literally 3 hours this morning trying to get this decision appealed. Because based on my medical knowledge and training and after many discussions with the patient, we both feel like this is the best treatment option for the patient at this time. However American Health Holdings gave me the run around for 3 hours this morning. They do this because they do not want to pay, they only care about their bottom line. They know that most physicians will quit if they get the run around for 30 mins. They transfer you to different people who have voice mails and who will likely never call you back. They tell you they don't have access to their physician reviewers or nurse reviewers. They do all this without ever seeing the patient, without ever going into her history in any detail, without ever having any discussions with the patient. They are short sighted. The only thing they care about is short term cost control, without realizing that the right medication would prevent the patient from having future relapses and disability thus saving cost over the long term.

I am a 8 year survivor of ovarian cancer and still fighting. BCBS covered everything, and pre-certified all my chemo and procedures, usually within 24 hours. Texas moved to Aetna for teacher's insurance and AHH denied my claim for chemotherapy (carboplatin and taxol) and delayed my chemo for 2 weeks. Their general oncologist who reviewed my 8 year file for a few minutes decided he knew better than my Board Certified doctor in Gynecologic Oncology (by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology) who has kept me alive against the odds, and denied my request. My Gynecologic Oncologist had to take the time to convince the quack at AHH that he was the best qualified to make treatment decisions for me. AHH is NOT a patient advocate and only care about ROI (according to their website) as a metric of success. I will do everything in my power to make sure people are aware of this reprehensible company. Aetna ought to be ashamed for using these people.

This is the absolute worst company. I was treated so poorly with the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I am beyond upset. My mom is in the ICU fighting for her life, I have enough to deal with. Horrible horrible company. I was told "I have people waiting to get on the phone I can't sit here and talk to you forever" "I can't tell you that information I have to hear it from your mother (who is intubated and sedated)" then I get transferred to the same voicemail that never answers.

I work for a specialty pharmacy and I had the EXACT same disgustingly terrible experience as Dr.Even Wang. For more than 3 hours they argued with me, trying divert me to incorrect departments so I could not successfully complete an appeal. I thought it was incompetency but, after calling back 5 different times to try to get new staff that could actually help me, it makes total sense that this company is driven by malicious negligence. Do not let these people dictate your healthcare.
